Looking Back On Our Christmas Season

We have had so much fun the past few weeks getting ready for Christmas. Last year I found Christmas really stressful, but this year I have been much more organised.  I bought the presents early, and even did most of the wrapping too.

Meeting Father Christmas

We kicked off our Christmas build up by meeting Father Christmas at the Center Parcs’ Winter Wonderland last month. Although it was a little rushed, they did enjoy it a lot. Ava knew he wasn’t the real one but Thea was totally convinced.

Collecting Stamps with FundraisingStamps

Collecting Stamps For Count The Kicks With FundraisingStamps

Did you collect stamps for charity for Blue Peter in the Eighties? I did. I never figured out how they made any money from collecting stamps, but it was an easy thing for a child to do. Ditto the milk bottle tops.

I hadn’t thought about collecting stamps for decades (literally), but a friend posted about it on Facebook. So I thought I’d remind you, in time for you Christmas post! We are both collecting for Count the Kicks, which is a brilliant charity that does absolutely vital work. We’ve been collecting stamps for months and only have this many, so it’s not a quick win in these days of email.  Continue reading

Origami lights

Learning Origami with Origami-Est at Southwood Stores

Paper. As a stationary addict, it’s one of my favourite things. Learning a new craft. Also one of my favourite things, as you’ll know if you’ve been following my blog or Instagram for a while. So combine the two in an origami workshop and you have Becky-Heaven.

A few weeks ago, I went along to Southwood Stores, near Milton Keynes, to learn origami with the lovely Esther from Origami-Est. It was a birthday treat to myself, and my sister Debbie, and one of my best friends (also called Becky) came too. There were two lovely ladies on our table, and another five origami fans on the other table.

Here I am getting my fold on. I’d just started and was really concentrating!

Gizmo the Pug who saved Christmas

Gizmo The Pug: A Heartwarming Christmas Video

This is a collaborative post.

For some reason, I find dogs in costumes, doing human things one of the funniest things ever. Ask my husband and he will tell you of the times I have cried with laughter at dancing dogs, walking dogs, and dogs on skateboards. “You’ve Been Framed” is a favourite in our house for that reason, so I guess it can’t just be me that finds them hilarious!

As a lover of all things Christmas, I look forward to the festive adverts, and 2016 is no exception. This year, I am extra happy, as some ads that feature dogs doing cute or funny things. Now I do like the boxer on the trampoline. But step aside Buster, there’s a new (cuter) dog in town. Let me introduce you to Gizmo, the Vision Direct pug. Find out how he saves Christmas…

Gotta love a pug in a polo neck, right? I love this cutie, with his geek chic glasses and mournful eyes. I also really want his specs – I could do with a new pair! It’s such a cute video, isn’t it?  Continue reading
