Ava's latest art work

Ava is a prolific artist, despite being only four and a half (the half is very important!)

Every day she comes home, clutching an assortment of creations, and these are a few of my favourites from this week.

Home made balloon octopus with two crepe paper legs

This was a balloon octopus when it left preschool. Ava was gutted to discover he had not only deflated, but had lost six of his legs.

Yellow picture with pastel chalks and glitter

I asked her what it was, and she replied ‘Just a pattern. With lots of glitter.” Love it!

White cardboard home made binoculars with purple shiny ribbon

Binoculars. Obvs.

A portrait of Ava’s cousin, Finn, complete with bellybutton.

Pencil drawing of a girl with flowers for hands and a butterfly on her dress and roller-skates

She drew this picture of her sister in the back of the car on our way to Cornwall.

Although I love that she’s so creative, it does pose a few problems… I have to buy a new bottle of Vanish pretty much every month to try and get the pen and paint out of her clothes. This dress is pretty typical:

I love love this post!! I love all the stuff they bring back, I love the octopus saga and I love Finn’s knees!

Thank you, I think I might make it a regular thing as her imagination seems to know no limits! Just found her preschool report and she’s drawn a picture of me. It’s very funny. I’m running out of space to keep it all- afraid the octopus went in the bin today! X
