Getting Inspired at The Spring Fair

Have you ever been to a home and gift expo before? I went along to the Spring Fair in Birmingham this week, to look for inspiration. The Spring Fair is gigantic. There are hundreds, if not thousands, of stands from all sorts of brands, big and small. From homeware, DIY, fashion, and gifts, there is a lot to see!

According to a new poll, three in ten people admit lying to their friends about where they bought homeware finds, to stop them copying their style! Well that is not my style at all – when I find a bargain I like to share it! So I’ve handpicked a few of my latest discoveries, and where you can find them.

MY SPRING FAIR HOMEWARE EDIT

First up, these gorgeous neon decorations from Love Inc. caught my eye. They aren’t cheap but boy are they cheerful! This Cloud and Rainbow LED Neon Light is £195, but isn’t it adorable?Neon cloud with rainbow from Love Inc Continue reading

Ideas for Thea’s New IKEA Kura Bed

We have just got Thea a new (second hand) IKEA Kura bed. So now I am feverishly pinning  ‘IKEA Kura Bed Hack’ images. Sorry if you are sick of seeing them on my Pinterest feed! It’s just so flexible and there are loads of things we could do with it, how do we decide?

If you’re not familiar with the delights of the IKEA Kura bed, let me enlighten you. It can be used like a low-ish four poster bed, as we have it. Or you can upturn it, and made into a low mid-sleeper bed. In a few years we’ll flip it over so Thea can have a little den beneath it. She’s too young for that yet – she’s already rolled out, luckily it’s nice and low! That’s not the only danger though, as you’ll find out when you keep reading!

Will the stickers survive if I move them up?

Kitchen Interior Design Ideas: New Worktops, Tiles & Cooker

I love looking for interior design ideas in magazines and websites, and could spend all day pinning to my Pinterest boards! Progress on our house is so slow: most rooms are looking quite good, but we only have two finished rooms, the downstairs toilet, and Thea’s room, which recently featured on RockMyFamily. Our kitchen is the only room  we’ve barely touched.

Orange oak kitchen with old electric oven

Oh so orange.

The gingery oak cupboards are not what we would have chosen, but not bad enough to rip out, even if we had that kind of money! Even if we could afford it, we are trying to live a more LAGOM life, by reusing where we can, so would still do our best to work with what we have. It’s very gloomy and orange-toned, thanks to the awful lino, tiles and lights. The layout is fine, and the cupboards are sound, so  we are planning to revamp it on a budget.
