Lee Stafford Academy Ionic Flat Iron Hair Straightener

Lee Stafford The Academy Hair Straighteners Review

Do you ever get that “Did I leave my hair straighteners on?” panic moment? I get them pretty much every time I use mine. It drives my husband mad, and when he picked them up a few weeks ago and they felt warm, even though I hadn’t even used them, it was time to say goodbye.

Luckily, I have been sent* a pair of brand spangly new state of the art straighteners by Lee Stafford Academy to review, and I love them.

First up, these Lee Stafford The Academy Ionic Flat Iron Hair Straighteners look absolutely GORGEOUS. They are matte black with silver and pink highlights, and come in a pretty pink box.Lee Stafford Academy Flat Iron Straighteners Continue reading

Colour Together Nature by Annie Davidson

Colour Together Nature Adult and Children’s Colouring Book Review

If there was such a thing, I’d have an A-Level in Colouring In. I did Art and Geography A-Levels alongside English, and would spend a lot of time clutching a handful of colouring pencils. Ava and Thea are following in my footsteps. When the guys at Andersen Press sent me a copy of their latest colouring book Colour Together: Nature to review* I knew we’d love to colour it in together.Colour Together Nature by Annie Davidson

The illustrator Annie Davidson has done a brilliant job – the illustrations are beautiful and there is a more detailed version on the right, with a simpler one on the left. Perfect for adults and kids to colour together. Ready to colour in the fox page of Colour Together Nature Continue reading

Wise Words personalised kid's book on a white shelf

A Personalised Children’s Book from The Book Of Everyone

I come from a long line of bookworms, and our shelves are groaning. I firmly believe you can never have too many books, and Ava and Thea are of the same opinion. When the people behind The Book of Everyone asked me to review* their new personalised children’s book, I was pretty excited.

This gorgeous personalised children’s book is called ‘Wise Words for NAME from NAME‘. I wrote it to both Ava and Thea, but of course you can write it to just one child. Isn’t the cover beautiful?

Wise Words Personalised children's book from Book of EveryoneThis keepsake book contains words of wisdom for your kids to refer to in the future, which you can customise to your heart’s content. Your kids can read each page in order, or dip in and out, using the index. There are pages on how to survive school, what to do if you’re a bit stuck, and lots of other good advice. The artwork is stunning – really simple and colourful, so I think it would appeal to all ages, and boys and girls. Continue reading

Review Wooden Wrist Watch Jord box

REVIEW: A Beautiful Wooden Wrist Watch from JORD

Wood is one of my favourite materials. We have oak furniture all around our house, and I just love the way it looks and feels. But I must admit, I’d never considered a wooden wrist watch until recently.

JORD, who make stunning wooden wrist watches, contacted me to see if I’d like to review one of their watches*. Having checked their gorgeous Instagram account, I jumped at the chance. I’m so glad I did, after this beauty was delivered:

Review of the JORD Fieldcrest Zebrawood and Maple Wooden Wrist Watch

Isn’t it beautiful? The watch arrives on a little herringbone pillow, in a pretty wooden box. It comes with a cleaning cloth, instructions and some extra links, and I couldn’t wait to get it on my wrist! Continue reading

REVIEW: The Gruffalo at The Lyric Theatre, London

Over the weekend, I took the train to London with Ava and Thea to watch The Gruffalo at the Lyric Theatre*. We’ve taken them to London a few times in the past, but by car, so they were excited to go on the train.

Excited girls at the train station

It was the first time I’d taken them on a train by myself and they were super excited.

I was nervous as Ryan had to work so I was on my own, and the train was incredibly full. I was very thankful for our MyBugle ID bracelets, which have our emergency contact numbers engraved on them. The theatre is about a ten minute walk from Leicester Square tube station, and there’s a buggy park there, so somewhere to store your pram if you need it.

Before THe Gruffalo Show

The girls are big Gruffalo fans, and when they saw the big cut out of the monster himself, they ran straight over for a photo.
