The Shave Of My Life With Friction Free Shaving

Leg shaving. Goodness knows how many hours (or days) of my life I have wasted on this tedious task. But apart from the time, the waste of money also grates on me. Now I have discovered a razor blade subscription, that is way cheaper than my normal blades, there’s no going back! The lovely team at FFS send me the Samantha razor to test-shave* – isn’t it pretty?
Friction Free Shaving Samantha Razor and Shave Cream

The Samantha razor handle looks gorgeous, and feels even better: it’s really heavy and so much nicer to use than plastic-handled razors. It feels high quality, and should last forever. Friction Free Shaving Razor and Cationic Shave Cream

The five blades, the pivoting head and the rubber strip that helps lift the hairs combine to give a fantastically close shave. It’s even better when combined with the Cationic Shave Cream, which contains lots of lovely natural ingredients like manuka honey, shea butter and coconut oil. Friction Free Shaving Samantha Razor Blade

In order to really test out the Samantha, I shaved one leg with it, and used a fresh blade on my old Gillette Venus razor for the other leg. I used the shave cream on both legs.

Friction Free Shaving Samanta vs Gillette Venus

The difference is noticeable. The Samantha glided over my skin with ease, removing every hair in one stroke. The Venus didn’t glide as well, and I had to go over the same areas more than once. It didn’t give as smooth a result either. So I am totally convinced. The FFS blades arrive in a little box, rather than being individually wrapped in those plastic pods that Gillette ones have, so this makes me happy too.

I got the lovely gold coloured, Samantha razor, and you can also choose a blue version. It comes with four five-blade heads and costs £7 a month. But there also the Frankie, which is silver, with four three-blade heads, and is only £5 a month. You can also add the delightfully-fragranced shave cream for £7 a month.

The idea of getting four blades a month is that you have a new one each week. But these blades are so good you could totally get away with one every two weeks (or maybe more during the winter!) The great thing about the FFS subscription service is that it’s so flexible.  As well as the monthly delivery, you can pause it, or choose an every-other month service, or cancel altogether.

The basic turquoise Gillette Venus razor blades are around around £9 for four on Amazon, which tends to be the cheapest place. Friction Free Shaving’s basic three-blade heads are £5 for four, with their five-blade heads at £7 for four. But that’s not all. They get delivered to your door for free, and you get the handle free with your first month.Friction Free Shaving Razor Blade Subscription

So not only do you get a gorgeous, tactile handle, but you also get your blades delivered for at least £2 a month cheaper. Both the blades and the shave cream have the British Union for the Abolition of Vivisection (BUAV) award, meaning they are free from animal testing.

If you go through my special referral link here, you’ll get 30% off your first box (plus I’ll get a £2 credit to my account).

Would you use a razor subscription service? I have added this razor blade subscription to my others, which include the Love Lula natural beauty box, and the Proper Post stationary subscription service, both of which I love!

Wow, what an interesting idea. I’d never have thought of something like that! I have to admit I’m really cheap and use one blade a month at the moment though. You mentioned that it’s pretty flexible so I’ll take a look.

Yeah it’s cool isn’t it! I don’t change mine as often as I should but this makes it so much more affordable, especially as it works so much better too! xx
