Ava, My Favourite Family, Thea, Things I Love

A trying week, with graffiti, nakedness and general destruction

We’ve had a few trying times this week. But they are also kind of funny. So I thought I’d share.

I’ll start with Thea.

I came home from a meeting to find Ryan scrubbing at the rug in the living room, after she had scribbled over it with luminous yellow and turquoise pen. And added a few pink touches for good measure. He didn’t take a ‘before’ picture, but this is how it looked after half an hour of cleaning:Grey and cream rug with pen scribblesThen yesterday, I discovered that she had ripped my magazine up. Ripped up magazine

Four year old's pencil drawing on the wall

Ava says this is a picture of me! I daren’t ask what the two balls between my legs are…

Now for Ava. She created this masterpiece on her bedroom wall!   Four year old's pencil drawing on the wallWhilst I admire her attention to detail, I can’t help but think it would have been better to use paper.

She also decided to ‘clean’ her playhouse. With mud.

Another day, I was upstairs drying my hair and heard the front door slam. I rushed downstairs to find Ava in the hall, totally naked, looking guilty. I asked her what she was doing, then noticed that she’d dragged the kitchen step stool to the utility room door so she could reach the keys. She told me she was looking for a frog. So she’d managed to select the correct key from the five on my keyring, and opened the door. All. By. Herself. Utility room door with step stool

Anyone could have been there, it’s very scary. Thank goodness Thea didn’t escape – I don’t think Ava would go near the road (then again, I didn’t think she would open the front door!) but Thea is a bit less cautious.

So now we have a chain on the top of the door. And I have a few more grey hairs.

I will definitely be needing the final part of my holiday survival kit!

Every time a marker is opened, the color goes on the wall, or the bedsheets. I keep trying to keep the painting stuff away from them! jajajaja and nakedness everything. I can appreciate that Small Kiddo wants to go potty on her own but then she’s running around naked again! btw your kids’ wall art is awesome! 😉 #bestandworst

One of my earliest memories is drawing on the wall behind my nana’s sofa. When quizzed regarding said artwork I immediately blamed my sister….who was five months old at the time! #bestandworst

Ha ha that it brilliant! Not for your nana though. Thea drew on the wall in Costa the other day so she’s taking after her big sister. X

Hahaha – oh dear, just another day with kids huh! I have had one child escape before and we were very lucky to get him back unscathed thanks to some quick thinking 7 year olds up the road who saw him crawl onto the road! I shudder to think too hard about what might have happened. Love the artwork! #fridayfrolics

Ahhhhh…. That sounds like a mental week! Still, the drawings are actually very nice, albeit a bit misplaced. Not that you’d want to encourage a repeat performance by telling her that!

Thanks Alice- she has actually added to it now, probably because we didn’t really tell her off as we were trying not to laugh. So I fear we have made a rod for our own backs!
