Days Out, My Favourite Family

A visit to Green Dragon Eco Farm, near Buckingham

The weather looked nice(ish) this week, so we decided to check out Green Dragon Eco Farm. We thought the girls would love it. We were right, it was a big hit.

YUMMY FOOD AT GREEN DRAGON ECO FARM

We started in the lovely restaurant, which cooks meat from the farm. We thoroughly enjoyed our juicy burgers and chunky chips (for Ryan and I) and sausage and mash (for the girls). Yummy doesn’t even come close.

FEEDING THE BABY ANIMALS AT GREEN DRAGON ECO FARM

Then it was on to the barns, to feed the baby goats (we bought a bag of feed from reception for 50p). I am kind of nervous around animals (especially when a goat had a nibble on my bag!) I wanted to set the girls a good example, so I forced myself to feed the goats, and I kept all of my fingers. This did the trick, the girls were happy to have a turn too. They also fed one of them a bottle of milk. Well, actually a few of them were fighting over it – you’d think they were never fed!

There was a smaller building with guinea pigs and rabbits and chicks. You can stroke the pets at certain times of day.

THE AMAZING ADVENTURE PLAYGROUND AT GREEN DRAGON ECO FARM

The girls were really keen to go on the outdoors adventure playground…

It was pretty chilly so we managed to wrestle the girls away from the outdoor playground into the indoor large soft play area. We warmed up with some tea and cake whilst they ran off some energy.

Then it was on to the second indoor play area, which had a full sized bouncy castle, and some large sandpits.

There are also go carts and smaller kids push on trikes outside, but it looked like it was going to rain so we skipped them.

The park has loads of eco-friendly features, for example they use rainwater to flush the toilets, and have a biomass boiler, and solar panels.

We spent about four hours there and could easily have spent all day, especially if it had been warmer. We will certainly go back in the summer. It costs £7 an adult and £6 for a child (but under 2s are free) which I think is great value. The food was good value too and really high quality. All in all, a great day out – even if it’s raining!

That really does sound like a great value farm park, we have some nearby, but they are much more expensive. Well done for being brave and feeding the goats, they are very sweet looking. It looks like you had loads of fun together, a great day out! Thanks so much for linking up to #Whatevertheweather 🙂 x

What a brilliant place! I bet in summer it’ll be so much more fun, especially if you take a picnic. I love that it’s so eco. Those little baby animals are adorable. That’s my favourite part about visiting farms in Spring. It sounds like there are loads of activities to do, definitely a place you can go to again and again. Thank you so much for sharing with #whatevertheweather xx

I really enjoyed reading your post, it looks like a great day out! I took Finn to his first farm last week and am eager to find more new places. It’s not too far from us so will have to put it on the list.

This looks like a great day! Have you ever visited Thrift Farm? It’s another farm that’s near Milton Keynes and is a great morning/afternoon out 🙂
