Ava, My Favourite Family, Thea

Try my argument diffusing technique for kids

My girls are of an age now where they argue. Quite a lot.

Ava is the queen of tale-telling, and Thea knows just how to wind her up.

After yet another bout of “Thea touched my coins…” and “Ava got my Mousey…” I suddenly remembered a technique my mum used to use on me and my siblings, which we called ‘Nose to Nose’.

It’s very simple, which is what makes it so effective.

Just get the two (or three, or four) squabbling children to sit or kneel, facing each other, with their noses touching, and get them to stay like that for a while. That’s it.

They find it hysterical, so the fits of giggles magically take the place of any annoyance, and everyone is friends again. It’s very funny to watch too.

Ava and Thea Try it yourself and see if you can keep a straight face – bet you can’t!

My girls are three and argue over toys among other things such as ‘she’s in my seat’ or ‘I want to cuddle mummy so you can’t’! I’ll definitely try this next time they argue! Thanks for linking up to the #BinkyLinky

hmm… not sure it would work with my boys, when they are arguing getting their heads that close could end up violently.
