Our Christmas 2015

Despite my fears, our Christmas was wonderful. We kicked things off with our Christmas Eve Box, in the early afternoon, and it was a total hit. I bought the box from IKEA, and added some classic Christmas tales and DVDs, and some jam jars filled with hot chocolate and marshmallows, and popcorn, and the girls’ homemade stockings. Breakfast with Father Christmas at Wyevale Garden Centre

We’ve never taken Ava and Thea to visit Father Christmas before. They’ve met him at school fetes and at nursery, but have never been to a ‘proper’ one. This year, we had the opportunity to review Wyevale Garden Centre’s Breakfast with Father Christmas event. Much excitement ensued! Meeting Father Christmas As we walked in, the girls spotted Father Christmas, and Thea ran up to him straight away. Ava hung back a little bit, but soon got chatting to him as well.

Reasons to be Thankful

Happy Thanksgiving! Although I’m not American, I am an Honorary Texan (yes, that is a thing!) and my cousin and I spent a wonderful Thanksgiving in Atlanta with my honorary second American parents Bruce and Joyce when I was a student. Anyway, American or not, I think it’s a great idea to remember all the things we are thankful for. I really miss going to the cinema

Before we had the girls, I went to the cinema quite a lot. I love films, and did a minor in Film Studies at university. But now we have the kids, we very very rarely go, I can’t even remember the last time! It’s not so much that we can’t get a baby sitter, as our family and friends have offered, and I even have a pair of free tickets waiting to be used!
