Five things I love right now: May

1. My new glittery trainers. My friend got some, and I blatently copied her. They are from Sainsbury’s and cost £12, although I got them for just £9 as it was their 25% off time. Steal. And perfect for summer.

2. Peter Kay’s Car Share. If you haven’t yet discovered the absolute joy of Peter Kay’s new comedy Car Share I urge you to check it out on the BBC iPlayer, I promise, you won’t be disappointed!

This is one of the few programmes Ryan and I both love, and we sit there laughing like a pair of lunatics, and really look forward to the next episode. We love Peter Kay anyway but I think this is my favourite thing he’s done – so well observed, beautifully written and performed, and genuinely touching, as well as hilarious.

3. Little Bird by Jools Oliver at Mothercare. These are by far my favourite kids clothes, both for girls and boys. They are a bit more expensive but the attention to detail is so great I think it’s well worth it – the stripes actually match up along the seams, the button plackets and pockets have contrasting fabric, and they wash really well. I love the retro style and could happily buy every item.  Although very pretty, they aren’t too girly, and the unisex t-shirts and shoes are just delightful. The middle dress is actually on long-term loan from a friend – her little girl has grown out of it but my mum thought it would really suit Thea (she was so right) so we have it for a few months until she outgrows it. Then it’s going back to be kept safe.

4. Bluebells. Our garden is absolutely full of them, much to my delight! I don’t think they’ll last much longer so I’m enjoying them while I can.

5. A freshly charged toothbrush and a new toothbrush head. A similar feeling to freshly washed sheets, but even better as it’s making your teeth super clean. Ahh it’s the simple things!
