How is your Lock Down hair doing? I was due to get my dark brown roots done and all of it dyed pink the day after lockdown began. So after another four weeks, it’s not looking great! So I decided to dye my hair pink at home, using Ruby Shampoo from My. Haircare, and the Treat conditioner. It’s really easy to dye your hair pink at home, read on to find out how! You’ll need to have naturally blonde hair, or bleached blonde hair for this to work.
About Infuse My Colour
I’ve used Infuse My Colour shampoos and conditioner for a few years now, ever since getting pink streaks in my hair. I have previously used the Ruby Shampoo to maintain the pink in my hair, after getting it dyed at a salon. But last time I went to the hairdresser I went more blonde than ever before and really liked it. (I used Infuse My Colour Platinum Shampoo to give maintain a nice cool tone.) But I wanted to get my pink back!
The Infuse My Colour range makes it so easy to dye your hair at home, with several colours that you just shampoo in.

You will need either natural blonde hair, or previously bleached blonde hair to dye it pink at home.
It’s so easy to dye bleached blonde hair pink at home, in minutes with Infuse My Colour Ruby Shampoo.
This pink-toned shampoo looks dark in your hand, but transforms to a gorgeous pink when you put it onto bleached hair.

How to Dye Hair a Subtle Pink at Home
You can use the Ruby Shampoo in two different ways to achieve different looks. For the most subtle pink, simply apply it like normal shampoo, and massage it in. To get a stronger colour, repeat the same steps. Condition and style your hair as normal, with The Infuse My Colour Treat Conditioner for best results.
How to Dye Hair a Brighter Pink at Home
For the strongest result, I find it best to wash hair with a regular shampoo, then towel dry hair a little, and then apply Ruby Wash to your hair in sections. Massage it in well and leave it on for a while. Condition and style as normal.

I have tried different time periods, from ten minutes to 40 minutes. It’s a little brighter if you leave it longer but you still get a good result from ten minutes. I left it on for about half an hour in this photo. The amount of shampoo you use also affects the final shade.

Sometimes it comes out very pink, and sometimes more of a rose gold. I love it whichever way and like the way you’re never quite sure what shade you’ll get.
Here is a before and after to see the change:

How Long Does The Pink Shade Last?
For me, the pink hair colour fades gradually as you wash it, and turns a really pretty pale pink after a couple of washes. I imagine it depends on the porosity of your hair. But this shampoo is a great no-commitment way to dye hair pink at home, yourself.

It looks fab! Thanks so much for sharing how you do it. I have the copper shampoo, but I didn’t know you could leave it on for longer! So tempted by the pink. I have a half head of highlights but I’m so coppery anyway. I want all these shampoos to try!
