I’ve got a confession to make. I *may* be moving on from copper. My little home office is a shrine to black, white and copper. Have a peek on my post about working from home and you’ll see! Recently, I’ve been adding a smattering of gold desk accessories and I love how luxe my workspace looks now.
I am keeping my copper things too, of course, just adding in a new metallic shade. Read on to find out how to style your desk with gold accessories.
My gold obsession started with my gorgeous Happiness Planner at the beginning of the year. I chose the gold and pink version, and it comes with a gold pen. I picked up the Hay scissors and double pencil sharpener at Papersmiths in BOXPARK Shorditch, London.
Next came the gold paperclips and the giant safety pin, which is from one of my favourite independent shops, Southwood Living. I’m using it to hold a few of my washi tapes at the moment, and it hangs nicely on my IKEA peg board.
Kate Spade Gold Desk Accessories
The real excitement happened when these gorgeous gold desk accessories from Kate Spade New York arrived.
I’d been eyeing up this beautiful perspex and gold stapler and the matching tape dispenser from iconic NY brand Kate Spade for ages, but it seemed like a bit of an extravagance. Even the pink boxes are beautiful!
They have quirky slogans engraved into the gold: the tape says ‘MAKE IT STICK’ and the stapler says ‘HOLD IT TOGETHER’. They are such good quality and looks super luxe.
I think they go well with the typographical prints I have on my SKADIS peg board, which I got from IKEA.
The stapler and tape dispenser add glamour to my desk, and tie the gold and pink look together, with the pink washi tape I added to the dispenser.

I’m also enjoying the lush little Paddywax Peony and Clover Soywax Scented Candle, in a gold tin. It smells absolutely gorgeous, and that’s without even lighting it. I am going to stock up on some more of these as they make such great little gifts. Paddywax is an American company who specialise in hand-poured, soy wax blended, fragranced candles. This little candle is great for travel, as it’s lightweight, and protected in the gold tin.
My husband is excited that we finally have a stapler, so it’s a win/win for us. I do have to make sure my daughter doesn’t pinch them though, as she has inherited my love of stationery!
So now I am all set up to brainstorm in my brown and gold notebook from HEMA (4 for £2.50), with a cuppa from my Cafe of Curiosities monochome and gold flamingo mug (£12). I wonder what you’ll choose? Do tell me in the comments, I’d love to know!
