My Favourite Five for February: Tiger, IKEA & FitBit

Tiger white wire fruit bowl
IKEA coat hooks

1. Tiger geometric goodies. I can’t get enough of Tiger. Our local one opened fairly recently and I buy something or other every time I go past, I can’t resist! Sadly/luckily (depending on your will power) you can’t buy online yet so if you don’t have one near you, I’m sorry but hopefully you will soon! I picked up this lovely embroidery kit for just £3. Yes, THREE POUNDS! I went back and got another one today – I’m going to try and spray this hoop copper so it can go in our office, and I’m going to do my next one with pink thread, to go in our lounge. The ‘instructions’ are pretty hopeless as they are pictorial, but it was so easy you won’t need them anyway. I did this in about an hour, in front of the TV.I also got this rather lovely white wire fruit bowl for £4.
2. IKEA LOSJON coat hooks. I love these brightly coloured hooks – they are only £4.75, and you can either screw them into the wall, or stick them up. That’s the option I’ll be going for, obviously. We need more coat hooks in our hall, and I thought if I put these up at waist height, the girls can hand their own coats up, rather than chucking them on the floor.

Becky's hand with a FitBit

3. Fitbit Flex. Those of you that know me IRL may well fall off your chair in shock that I have actually bought a fitness product. OK you can stop laughing now. I’m trying to be healthier, and I know that this won’t actually do that, but I am interested in how much (or little) exercise I actually get and also how much sleep. Not surprisingly, I pretty much hit my 10,000 step goal on the days I am running about with the girls, and on my work days, it’s more like 6,000. And last Sunday it was a paltry 3,000! But the day before I went to London and did over 16,000 so I didn’t really care that much. Because I had a feeling I am going to get bored of this, I got it with my Boots points, so it’s not *real* money, and it’s £15 off at the moment too. It comes with a second bigger wrist band, so if I do get bored, I can give it to Ryan! But so far, I’m finding it interesting and now that I have my week of base line steps, I have something to beat.

Thea and Ava in Donna Wilson dresses

4. Donna Wilson for John Lewis dresses. I found these super cute dropped waist dresses in the sale at John Lewis for half price and I couldn’t resist. I’m not sure how long I will get away with putting the girls  in matching outfits so I am making the most of it whilst I can.

5. Flamingo and ice cream tech wallpapers. One of my friends found this blog link on Pinterest and sent it to me. Lauren Conrad has created some gorgeous FREE phone and computer wall papers, and my phone is now sporting some pretty flamingos, and my computer has some lovely brush letting saying ‘find the beauty in every day’ which is a great reminder.

  1. I love Tiger too! We have one in Kingston and everytime I go I have to go in and have a mooch. I really like thost coat hooks from Ikea – I think I might have to buy some for the boys room.

Thank you so much for linking up to #OurFaveFive and I hope to see you back for March’s! xx

    1. Thanks Maria, the best thing about the coat hooks is that you can just stick them on – no drill needed, yay! See you soon xx

  2. I have never heard of Tiger, but I love that fruit bowl – I need to see if there is one close to me now! I love those colourful Ikea coat hooks! Thanks for linking up to #lovelythings

    1. Laura I think you would love Tiger – there are more popping up about the country, and if you’re in London it’s worth looking one out as there are a few dotted about. xx

  3. I really enjoyed reading this! I am also a massive Tiger fan, but since we no longer live near one it looks like I’m missing out on some goodies. Plus, I now need a fitbit- you’ve sold me!

    1. Ah yes I’m afraid you are, it’s such a treasure trove – very dangerous for my bank balance though! xx

  4. You’ve had some fab buys recently! I am yet to purchase anything from Ikea but I did go in there for the first time a little while ago, I came out having mentally redesigned my entire flat. I know what it’s like with Tiger…my boyfriend has come back with some pretty random things from there, on one of our first dates he bought a frisbee…at the time he didn’t explain it was for his dog…I just thought that’s what he did in his spare time! #lovelythings

    1. Ha ha I thought for a month there he had bought one for you as a present! Phew, I’m glad it was just for his dog. I am literally obsessed with IKEA, I know some people find it really stressful (and yes, at the weekend it can be fraught!) but I could spend hours in there just wandering around! xx

  5. This is a fab list. I have those ikea handles in our bathroom and they are very cool! The sewing is cool too and the fruit bowl. Thanks for sharing. Popping by from #lovelythings Angela

    1. Thanks lovely, I’m still figuring out where exactly to put the IKEA knobs, I need to sell/donate a big pile of stuff to make a space in our hall first! xx

  6. Oh how I want to live in your geometric world, unlike Kim Ks body – I’ll be popping to tiger (much easier) and not surprisingly not as interested in the Fitbit BUT love the phrase ‘not real money’ x truly lovely #lovelythings

    1. He he thanks so much, I have to say the novelty value of the Fit Bit is already slightly wearing off so I’m glad I didn’t use real money 😉 I am totally obsessed with geometrics, I think it’s the symmetry that appeals. And also the Tiger prices! xx

  7. What a lovely list! I love those colourful hooks from Ikea. Aww your girls look so cute with those dresses. I love Lauren Conrad. I didn’t know about this blog though. I’ll go and have a look. I don’t have a Fitbit and I don’t understand what all the fuzz is about it. But I must admit I feel curious now! Lol I’m also worried about the lack of excersice so I guess it could be good to see how many steps I’m doing. Thanks so much for sharing this at #KCACOLS. It was nice seeing you back for this week. I would love to see you again on Sunday! 🙂 x

    1. Ah thank you my lovely, I must say I am slightly addicted to my Fit Bit app, though maybe the novelty value will wear off! xx

  8. Silly Mummy says:

Love the dresses and coat hooks. I like Tiger too – so much stuff that you don’t know you need (& probably don’t!) #KCACOLS

  9. I keep hearing about this Tiger place and I have a feeling if one opens up near me, I will be bankrupt! 🙂
I have a FitBit Flex. I think it’s great. I do occasionally get bored of it, but I have put it back on in the last couple of weeks. I am training to do a charity walk in August so it’s really handy to keep a track of how much I am walking. Hope you enjoy using it. Kathy x #OurFaveFive

    1. Thanks Kathy, yes, it is rather dangerous. Particularly as it’s rarely stuff that you actually need! But great for kids birthday party presents. Good luck with your charity walk, I should think the FitBit would definitely help with that! xx

  10. I love Tiger too, I bought a really cute, tinned magnetic fishing game for Bobcat last week. He loves it!

    1. Ah yes I know the one you mean, I bought it for one of Ava’s little friends! It’s the best shop for kids’ presents isn’t it! xx

  11. I’m a Tiger addict the only thing that stops me going in there and spending tonnes is that it is hard to get round with a double pushchair! I’m about to google how many Boots points I need for a Fitbit, I have millions!

    1. Oh yes, it’s virtually impossible with a single, never mind a double! At least you’re saving a fortune though! Hope you can get a Fitbit, I really love mine, though am a bit disappointed that it doesn’t seem to register your steps when you are pushing a trolley or buggy xx

  12. I love that you dress your girls in matching outfits! I wish we had a Tiger near us – that sewing kit is so cute! x

    1. Thanks Donna, I went to Tiger earlier and left with £50 worth of goodies, (eek!) and some things I got in two colours so I can take one back. But something tells me I will probably just keep both versions…. xx
