Our visit to RHS Wisley

As it’s the Easter holidays, Ryan has taken the rest of this week off work. We were going to go away for a few days, but instead, we decided to go on day trips, as the weather forecast didn’t look very promising. Actually, the weather has been gorgeous, but never mind!

I bought Ryan Royal Horticultural Society membership for Christmas, and we haven’t had the weather to use it yet, so after we had such a nice day at Kew Gardens (read more here) we thought we’d visit the nearest RHS garden, which is RHS Wisley, near Woking in Surrey. Technically not that far from us, but sadly, quite a long way around London, via the M25. Ugh. We got there eventually though, with the aid of some carrot sticks!

We had an absolutely fantastic day (the weather certainly helped!) and Ryan got lots of inspiration for our garden. Here are a few photographic highlights…

Our smiles say it all!

We will definitely be going back to Wisley in the summer, and probably the autumn too, as we are members! It’s so child-friendly and easy with the buggy, and there is also an education centre which we didn’t have time to visit on this trip.

Your pictures are so beautiful! I’m glad you got there eventually. We had a similar situation with my sister once. I lived in Bucks and she lived in London. It said on the sat nav we were 20 miles in distance away from each other and it took us nearly two hours to get there! Crazy. The weather looks so beautiful!!! As much as I love Autumn I do miss the warmth from this time of year. I hope you’ve got to use much more of your pass! Thank you so, so much for sharing this on #whatevertheweather x

I love Wisley – although going in the tropical greenhouses when pregnant isn’t a good idea! #whatevertheweather

Looks like a lovely place to visit, we adore Surrey as it’s the next county from us and quite often visit there on the weekends. Thanks for putting this spot on the list for me #whatevertheweather

What fun! We live near Surrey and my parents have life time RHS membership, so we get to visit Wisley quite often. It’s such a beautiful place, it’s a shame it’s such a long way around London for you to get there though! Ray xx #toddlerapprovedtuesday

This looks like such a lovely day out and the little ones looked like they loved it too, so much space there and the freedom of the outdoors. Do join me for Country Kids, it is all about outdoor fun like this. Popping by from Toddler Approved Tuesday

Sadly we didn’t make it back but I bet it would look amazing in autumn as well, so I think I’ll pencil it in for half term. See you tomorrow x
