I’ve dyed my hair for years now, as I have quite a few greys peeking through. Up until last year, I played it safe, keeping to roughly my natural dark brown shade. I’ve wanted pink hair for a few years, but always thought it would be a nightmare to keep vibrant. Last year I had some pink sections added, and this year, I have really gone for it with highlights that have been dyed pink. So is it possible to keep hair colour vibrant, without using a tonne of chemicals? Read on to find out!
Pink is notoriously hard to keep looking vibrant, but luckily I’ve found out how to keep hair colour looking vibrant in-between colours, without adding loads of chemicals.

In this photo, I’ve left infuse My. Colour Ruby shampoo on my hair for half an hour to get a really vibrant colour. I’m wearing Inika Long Lash Mascara and Inika Mineral Foundation. You can read about how I cheat fuller eyebrows here.
Keep Hair Vibrant Colour For Longer with infuse My. Colour
Introducing My.Haircare infuse My. colour shampoo in Ruby, (ยฃ16.99) and the matching conditioner (ยฃ17.99). They are really lovely products to use, leaving hair soft and silky. The ruby-coloured shampoo is really vibrant, and smells of raspberries.

The conditioner is thick and white in colour, so it can be used with any of the infuse My colour shampoos.
My.Haircare infuse My. Colour Shampoo
My.Haircare infuse My. Colour say their Vegan shampoos refresh, revive and tone coloured hair, and contain 0% Sulphates 0% Silicones and 0% Parabens. There are My.Haircare infuse My. colour shampoos in five colours.

I have only tried the Ruby colour, but here is some information about the other shades:
Use COBALT to maintain the coolness of dark ash blondes and brown hair. If you have bleached blond hair, it apparently creates mint green tones, and makes a denim blue colour on white blonde hair!
Use PLATINUM to neutralise yellow and maintain the brightness of grey, white, pale blonde and highlighted hair.
Use COPPER to maintain brightness in deep strawberry blonde, copper, auburn, and warm brown hair. Apparently it adds warm tones to bleached hair for peachy effects.
Use GOLD to maintain the brightness of pale, medium, dark blonde and all highlights.
Use RUBY to maintain the brightness of red, red brown and burgundy hair. Or if you have bleached blonde hair, you can use it to create striking pinks, like I have.
I love how there is a shade of shampoo for any hair colour, whether warm or cool toned. The colours are vibrant, yet wash out easily, so you can change your colour at will, without damaging your hair. It’s the perfect no-fuss way to keep hair colour vibrant for longer.

My.Haircare infuse My. Colour Treat Conditioner
My.Haircare say “Our unique Vegan silicone free formula provides superior weightless hydration, nourishment and colour protection. Enriched with neroli extract, tangerine butter and sunflower seed extract for detangling, shine and elasticity. No parabens, gluten free, never tested on animals.” It’s a gorgeous conditioner that makes hair smooth and silky.
See the Results on My Hair
You can use infuse My. Colour in several ways. I’ve experimented and found the following results.
For the most subtle result, use it instead of your normal shampoo, rinsing out straight away.

It’s hard to see in the photos, but my hair is slightly pinker, especially at the top.
For a brighter result, apply the shampoo and leave it on longer as you’re in the shower. Doing this each wash gradually deposits more colour.

Using it for several washes in a row also gives a more even colour distribution.
For the most vibrant colour, apply it like a hair mask to dry hair and leave it on for up to half an hour.

This method does use a lot more of the shampoo, but it gives such a great result, I think it’s well worth it. Please wear gloves when trying this as it does stain your hands. And wipe up any drips as quick as you can. It makes hair so vibrant and shiny.

So to show the amount of colour change, here is the before and after next to each other.

So are you tempted to try one of these coloured shampoos?
Why not Pin this for later?

Hi! It’s really amazing and I’m thinking to try it on my brown/blonde hair to give them a pink tone. Do you Think that could be a good idea?
How long does the color remain vibrant?
Think you!!!!
Hello, thanks for reading! I am not sure it would show up much on brown hair but I think it would work well on any blonde parts, and it washes out after a few washes, when you stop using it. I find it gets brighter the more you use it. xx
You look absolutely beautiful Becky. The pink hair suits you. I would love pink hair. I have been thinking about trying the shampoos you have used for a while now.
Ah thank you so much Karen-Anne that is so kind. Iโd really recommend the Ruby one if thatโs the right shade for you xx
I’ve heard good things about this company! I generally use bleach london rosรฉ shampoo but it doesn’t actually wash my hair effectively. I really want to find a refillable or zerowaste alternative to keep my hair pink but I don’t think it’s going to happen any time soon!
The Quirky Queer
I tried the Bleach London Rose shampoo too but really didnโt like it. I couldnโt see any colour difference and it made my hair feel like straw! This may be worth a try for you if you didnโt like it either, itโs a hundred times better! Xx
When I had red hair, it was so hard to maintain. This sounds great, I’d never thought of coloured shampoos.
Thanks Sally, yeah itโs a great idea isnโt it!! If/when I try a different colour Iโll be trying the other shades of shampoo too! Xx
