Natural Brand Focus: Antipodes Organic Skincare Review

When you get to a certain age (mid… OK late 30s in my case) your old face wash and moisturiser combo just doesn’t cut it any more. The skin around my eyes, in particular, is getting a little creased, so I am keen to find something natural that will help. Read on for my honest review of Antipodes skincare including the Kiwi Seed Oil Eye Cream, Reincarnation Pure Facial Exfoliator and Grace Cream Cleanser. Do they live to the hype?

Antipodes Organic Skincare Grace Gentle Cream Cleanser

This cleanser is lovely to use. It smells pretty good, and is really creamy. You just massage it into dry skin and then wash off. However I find that it leaves a bit of a film on the skin, thanks to the moisturising ingredients. This is something I’ve found with every other cream or balm cleanser, so I use a muslin square soaked in warm water, to polish the cleanser off. I then use a cotton wool pad soakedย in micellar water to remove every last trace. I really rate Madera Micellar Water, whichย came in my Love Lula Beauty Box a few months ago. The double cleansing has down really helpedย my skin – it’s noticeably clearer and more even. You can buyย Antipodes Grace Gentle Cream Cleanser here for ยฃ25.

Antipodes Organic Skincare Kiwi Seed Oil Eye Cream

I had high hopes for this eye cream, but I have to admit, I haven’t noticed any difference yet. It feels lovely on the skin, and I am also using it around my lips. It’s nice and moisturising without feeling too heavy, but I can’t see much of a difference in my lines or dark shadows. I will carry on using it though as it’s nice to use and certainly isn’t having an adverse effect. A word of warning though – it really stings if you accidentally get it in your eye! EDIT: It’s now August and I’ve been using this eye cream every night and I can say with confidence that my underage shadows have improved, which is a win for me! I think I’ve got about another three months’ worth of eye cream left in the pot too, as you only need to use a tiny amount.

Antipodes Organic Skincare Reincarnation Pure Facial Exfoliator

I think you need to break the rules with this one – my sister used it when she came to stay and said she didn’t think it worked very well. This is because she followed the directions: the packaging says to massage this exfoliator over damp skin. But I find it’s much more effective if you apply it to dry skin, then rinse off. It’s more of a polish than an exfoliator in my opinion, and has very fine particles, making it good for more sensitive skin. Again it’s really pleasant to use and smells orangey, and I think it will last quite a long time. I may try mixing it with something a bit more grainy to get a better scrub, but I do like using it as it is, on dry skin. You can buy Antipodes Reincarnation Facial Exfoliator here for ยฃ22.

  1. I’ve never tried Antipodes before but I’ve just put in an order on Love Lula after reading this post. I’m really looking forward to trying the exfoliator – did you try using it with something more grainy? I seem to have stubborn dry skin on my nose, though I’m hoping with a better moisturiser and exfoliator, it will slowly disappear.

    1. Ah I hope you like it! I have started using it with Bare Minerals Exfoliating Grains once a week, and that works really well when you want more of a scrub than a polish! xx
