Looking for a clean, 98% natural origin facial sunscreen that also enhances your complexion? I prefer mineral sunscreens, as they are better for us and for the planet. But some can also leave a heavy, greasy feel, and white marks on the skin. I’m currently using Mossa 365 Days Defence For Face SPF30 tinted mineral sunscreen. It has UVA and UVB protection, and gives skin a subtle glow up! This 98% natural origin facial sunscreen is also reef-safe. Read on for my review of Mossa 365 Days Defence For Face SPF30 and see if it ticks all your boxes.
I have used Mossa products in the past and loved them. So although I loved Kri SPF30 Tinted Mineral Sunscreen, which I reviewed recently, I decided to give Mossa 365 Days Defence for Face SPF 30 a try next. Read on for my review of Mossa 365 Days Defence For Face SPF30 for all the details.

Mossa 365 Days Defence For Face SPF30 Review
Hopefully you know that you need to wear a high factor suncream every day, not just in the summer. So Mossa is reinforcing this by calling their sunscreen ‘365 Days Defence’. Mossa say:
“This extra lightweight sunscreen provides age-preventing broad-spectrum UVA/UVB protection 365 days a year. Sea Buckthorn, with its unique list of Omegas, enhances skin hydration, while raspberry vitamins help to neutralise environmental stress.”
It has both UVA and UVB protection (A is ageing and B is burning). You can apply it over make-up, as well as under it. I think it’s a reasonable price too: £21 for 50ml.
How Does Mossa 365 Days Defence For Face SPF30 Look?
I’ve taken some photos to show how the tinted sunscreen looks on my pale, but slightly tanned, white skin. It looks beige from the tube, and blends in well, leaving a healthy-looking tinted sheen. It’s fairly thick, but feels moisturising, rather than greasy. If you like Madara CC Cream, you’ll get on well with this. Mossa is Madara’s sister (and more affordable) brand so their formulas are similar.

How Does Mossa 365 Days Defence For Face SPF30 Look Under Make-up?
I took some photos of me using the sunscreen beneath my make-up at the start of the day, and end of the day. As you can see, my make-up stayed in place well, and didn’t slide off or go greasy.

I’m also wearing Madara CC Cream, Hynt Concealer, Love the Planet Loose Mineral Powder and Busher, and PHB Ethical Beauty Mesmerise Mascara.

I also put more Mossa sunscreen on top of my make-up to see how well it went on, when reapplying. My make-up still looks fine!
I highly recommend this clean tinted mineral facial sunscreen. It may be a little on the rich side for very oily skin, but I find it perfect for my combination skin, with mineral powder make-up over the top to absorb shine.
Mossa tinted facial sunscreen gives skin the coverage of a light make-up. It’s similar to my favourite discovery from last year, Sukin tinted sunscreen. But the colour is much better for my pale skin, and it smells better. As with all tinted products, be careful of transfer onto your collar: I use my non-tinted body sunscreen on my neck.

About Mossa
Now you know why I love this clean tinted sunscreen, I’ll share some information about the brand.
They say “MOSSA ingredients, final formulations and packagings are approved, and all products certified according to ECOCERT or COSMOS standard. So that, whichever formulation you pick, you can be sure it’s safe, effective, good for your skin and good for the planet.”
Why Mineral Sunscreen is Better for You and Our Planet
There are two types of sunscreen. Mineral sunscreens act as a physical barrier to reflect the sun’s harmful rays away from your skin. Instead of getting absorbed into your skin, they sit on it, making reapplying extra important. Chemical sunscreens absorb UV light before it reaches your skin, using synthetic blends. Some of these have been shown to damage coral reefs.
Mineral sunscreens generally use zinc oxide or titanium dioxide to provide the physical barrier. This can mean they look white and pasty, and can be difficult to blend in to your skin. That’s why I like a tinted mineral sunscreen. This tinted sunscreen from Mossa is a skin-true shade and gives skin a lovely glow, whilst protecting it from sun damage.
How Do I Know If A Sunscreen is Reef Safe?
There isn’t a globally recognised scheme for reef safe products and some companies can sneakily claim this, even if they contain ingredients that may damage sea life. So the sunscreen ingredients to avoid are:
- Oxybenzone (Benzophenone-3)
- Benzophenone-1
- Benzophenone-8
- Octinoxate
- Octocrylene
- 3-Benzylidene camphor
- 4-methylbenzylidene camphor
- OD-PABA
Mossa 365 Days Defence SPF30 is Reef Safe, as it doesn’t include any of these ingredients.
