Have you found the perfect natural eye make-up remover yet? Before I switched to clean and natural make-up and skincare, I had a great eye make-up remover. But since swapping to chemical-free beauty I have struggled to find a good natural replacement.
So I have tested five natural eye make-up removers to see which are the best at removing eye make-up quickly and easily. So which is the best natural eye make-up remover? Read on to find out.
If you use an oil or balm cleanser and a face cloth to remove your make-up, like my current favourite by Joik, or my all time favourite from Organic House. But I find that if I don’t remove my mascara first, it gets everywhere and actually makes the whole process more time consuming.
As for what to use alongside your eye make-up remover, I recommend a cotton or bamboo reusable pad. Although they may feel expensive, they will eventually save you money as you can use them for years and years, and they are also plastic-free. These make-up removing rounds from Cheeky Wipes are good if you need a recommendation.
Neal’s Yard Remedies Eye Make-Up Remover Review
I’ve liked the Neal’s Yard skincare products that I have tried before. This little blue bottle of organic and natural eye make-up remover is no different.
“Our best selling organic oil free cleanser gently removes even the most resistant waterproof make-up. It conditions your lashes while hydrating and protecting the delicate eye area. A blend of nurturing damask rose, antioxidant-rich white tea and cooling aloe vera, creates this calming infusion.”
Neal’s Yard
It’s a refreshing eye make-up remover that doesn’t sting or leave an oily finish, and it’s effective. It’s not quite as effective as some of the others I’ve tried, but is one of the cheaper ones, so is a good middle ground. And it smells gorgeous.

Joik Organic Two-Phase Eye Make-up Remover Review
I reviewed a selection of Joik Organic skincare products a few months back and was really impressed. So I decided to order their organic and natural eye make-up remover to see if it lived up to the rest of the product line-up. Joik say:
“Two-phase eye make-up remover with calming aloe juice, cornflower water and organic sesame oil is gentle to the eyes, but effective to remove all types of make-up, even waterproof one. The mild formula cares for the delicate skin around the eyes leaving it feeling hydrated and comfortable.”
Joik Organic
It comes in a nice recyclable glass bottle and removes eye make-up quickly and easily with no stinging. This eye make-up remover smells a little earthy but it’s not a problem as it works well. It doesn’t leave an oily finish and doesn’t irritate my eyes or skin. It is the most expensive per ml of the eye make-up removers I’ve tried however.

REN Rosa Centifolia Express Make-Up Remover Review
This REN make-up remover is not just designed for eye make-up, but for all make-up. Ren say:
“A silky milk make-up remover designed with a blend of oils and flower water for gentle but thorough cleansing including waterproof mascara. Restores comfort for those who tend to have drier/dehydrated skin type. Leaves the skin cleansed, toned and purified.”
REN
I normally like REN products (and their amazing Clean Screen is my go-to facial sunscreen for summer). But this product sadly didn’t live up to my expectations.
It’s quite runny, meaning it sits on top of a cotton pad and then seeps into my eyes. This leaves a horrid milky mist over the eyeball and it stings, which is really unpleasant. It works reasonably well at removing eye make-up, though not brilliant, but the side effects are not worth it for me!
I tried it as a normal facial cleanser, and didn’t rate it for that either, so this one is a miss for me. It does get really good reviews online at Love Lula, however, so perhaps it just doesn’t suit me. I can’t recommend it though so I haven’t linked to it.

Madara Bi-Phase Makeup Remover Review
As a longterm superfan of Madara skincare and Madara make-up there aren’t many Madara products I don’t love. So does their natural make-up remover impress me as much? Again this is a general make-up remover, not specifically for eye make-up and Madara say:
“The silky oil phase copes with the most challenging tasks effortlessly, dissolving stubborn colours, longwear makeup and mineral sunscreen, while the ultra-purifying water phase wipes it all away for good. Infused with Hyaluronic Acid, Rose Water, as well as Witch Hazel and Cornflower floral waters, the gentle formula softens, calms and balances your skin, soothing inflammation, tightening pores and boosting hydration.”
Madara
It works really well and feels nice on the skin with no oily residue. I wouldn’t use it to remove a whole face of make-up as it would soon become very expensive. But as a natural eye make-up remover, it’s ideal.
Price: £15 for 100ml
Lavera Eye Make Up Remover Review
This is the most affordable natural eye make-up remover I’ve tried, so do you get what you pay for? Lavera say:
“A mild eye make up remover with soothing aloe vera that will gently remove all traces of eye make up. May not remove waterproof mascara.”
Lavera
Well I actually found this to be a pretty effective eye make-up remover and it did remove water resistant mascara. However there is a big downside: it REALLY stings if it gets into your eyes unfortunately. I did carry on using it as it works, but had to be extremely careful not to get it in my eyes.
So I would only recommend it if you are very careful, as it does work. But if you can afford to spend a bit more, I would recommend the Neal’s Yard eye make-up remover over this one.
Price: £11.95 for 125ml
I also tried Natura Siberica Moisturising Foam Eye Make Up Remover because I was attracted by the £5.75 price. But it didn’t work that well and really stung my eyes. So I’m letting you know this one didn’t make my list of recommendations so you can avoid it.
Which Natural Eye Make-up Remover is My Favourite
I rate the Neal’s Yard, Madara and Joik natural eye make-up removers the most. I’d be happy to buy all of them again. I think that Madara and Joik are the most effective and since Madara is the more affordable of these two, Madara is my overall winner.
I hope you found my roundup of the best natural eye make-up removers useful, why not Pin it for later?
