Have you tried RMS Beauty products yet? I’ve been a fan of their cult favourite ‘Un’ Cover-up natural concealer for ages (you can read my review of it here) and am only just coming to the end of my pot, it lasts so well. Likewise, I love their lipstick, as the pigment levels are incredible (my review is here). So, does the RMS Beauty Signature Set in ‘Mod’ live up to their usual high standards? I’ve been testing it this month, thanks to Love Lula, so read on to find out!

RMS Beauty Signature Set in Mod is perfect for Christmas and New Year

RMS Beauty Signature Set Packaging

Let’s start with the packaging for the RMS Beauty Signature Set. It’s made of shiny, sturdy plastic, in a recyclable cardboard sleeve. The compact is simple and sleek, and feels nice. The RMS Signature Set palette costs £42*, so for that price, I think there should really be a mirror.

RMS Beauty Signature Set Shades

You can see how gorgeous the shades are straight away. There’s a shimmery rose gold ‘Master Mixer’, a frosty, creamy white ‘Living Luminizer’ , and two ‘Lip2Cheek’ shades in ‘Smile’ – a punchy coral and ‘Spell’ a chic dark rose brown colour. There is also a solid strip of Cocoa Lip and Skin Balm.

The top two shades have beautiful pearly shimmer, so are ideal for highlighting your features. The middle colours are more pigmented and can be used on cheeks and lips. You could also use the darker shade on your eyes if you like.

The colours are really versatile and flattering. I love the coral shade, which is very much on trend now thanks to Pantone naming Living Coral as it’s colour of 2019. You can apply a small amount of colour for a gentle wash, or layer it up for more intense colour. I find the Lip2Cheek shades last really well on my cheeks, but not so well on my lips. The Living Luminizer lasts well, but the Master Mixer fades away pretty quickly. The Master Mixer is so versatile, as you can mix it with other make-up, to make new shades! For example, adding a golden shimmer to a pink or coral lipstick. Clever, eh?

Where to Apply RMS Beauty Signature Set in ‘Mod’

These shades are so flattering, they can be used any where you like. They are also fantastically easy to apply, just blend them on with your fingers! This is the way I find best to use them.

TIP: Start with the lightest shade and work up to the darker shades. Then you don’t have to keep washing your hands.

RMS Beauty Signature Set in 'Mod' shades
  1. Sweep on a little of the Living Luminizer (shade 1) across the tops of your cheekbones, your brow bones, and the Cupid’s Bow above the top of your lip. If you like, you could also add some down the centre of your nose.
  2. Sweep some Master Mixer (shade 2) over your eyelids. You could also apply this to your cheeks or lips if you like.
  3. Add a pop of Lip2Cheek in ‘Smile’ (shade 3) over the apples of your cheeks and draw up towards your temples. Use your fingers to sweep some over your lips, too.
  4. Press each thumb into Lip2Cheek in ‘Spell’ (shade 4). Find your cheekbones and press your thumbs below them, and an angle. Draw up towards your temples.
  5. Blend, blend and blend! Blend upwards and outwards, and keep on blending until it looks seamless. You can add more colour at this point if you like.
A natural day time look with RMS Beauty Signature Set in Mod

For the photo below, I used more of the Lip2Cheek in Spell (shade 4) to accentuate my cheekbones, and added liquid liner. I was worried that the balm texture would make the liner bleed, but it didn’t, which is brilliant.

You can buy RMS Beauty Signature Set in ‘Mod’ through my affiliate link at Love Lula for £42. There is also another colourway available, called ‘Pop’ with a cooler palette, also £42 from Love Lula.

I think the RMS Beauty Signature Set is flattering, versatile all-natural make-up palette. Although expensive, it is fantastic quality, and a little goes a long, long way.
