I am a huge fan of all-natural cleansing balms. Aside from their luxurious feel, since swapping to an all-natural cleansing balm, my skin clarity has improved noticeably. I have used quite a few different natural cleansing balms over the years, and have liked them all. But the Organic House Clean & Calm Hot Cloth Cleanser may well be my favourite yet. Read on to find out what makes it so special.
Introducing Organic House
Organic House are an award-winning, British brand, with “natural and organic, effective, anti-ageing, anti-inflammation and healing” products. Their products are suitable for all skin types, and all ages, which makes skincare really simple.
Their ingredients are carefully sourced, and Soil Association/COSMOS Organic certified. Each batch is hand-made in the UK, and they use recycled paper for marketing materials, packaging and labels. The bottles and jars use recycled materials for production and are recyclable, and my cleansing balm and cloth arrived in a hessian bag. I was a little disappointed that it comes with a plastic spatula, rather than a bamboo one, but this is a minor quibble.
“We use a high percentage of certified organic ingredients and you’ll never find any synthetics in our range. Using original formulations, each ingredient has been carefully selected for its benefit and products are produced in small batches. Containing ingredients rich in anti-oxidants, each product has multiple benefits on the skin to cleanse, moisturise, brighten, lift, firm, soothe all without harmful preservatives, harsh chemicals, or synthetic fragrances.”
Organic House
Naturally, they are a cruelty-free brand, and most of the products are vegan. Organic House products are free from parabens, synthetic fragrances, mineral oils, silicones and sulphates, propylene glycol, phthalates, GMO, PEGs, TEA and DEA.
About Organic House Clean & Calm Hot Cloth Cleanser
This rich, yet non-greasy all-natural cleansing balm is a joy to use, as it smells so gorgeous. It’s almost a menthol fragrance, thanks to the rosemary, lavender and eucalyptus. It kind of helps clear your head as well as your skin!

Clean & Calm Hot Cloth Cleanser is coconut oil and shea butter based. It removes all make-up, leaving skin deep cleansed, calm, and moisturised. You also get a 100% organic bamboo and cotton muslin cloth included.

How To Use This All-Natural Cleansing Balm
Just scoop out a little of the balm into your palm, and rub your hands together to soften it. I found there were little ‘beads’ throughout the balm, which are slightly firmer than the rest of the formula. They melt as you roll them over the skin, giving a mini massage. Massage it over your skin for a few minutes, and inhale the gorgeous scent. Then, soak the washcloth in warm water, and hold over your face, wiping away the balm. Rinse your face and dry it gently. I also use a micellar water on a resuseable cotton pad as a last step, which ensures all traces are removed.
My skin has been so soft and clear since using this fab all-natural cleansing balm, so I’m looking forward to trying some other Organic House products. I hope they live up to this new favourite of mine!
