Welcome to my review of the Love Lula Natural Beauty Box for June. This month’s beauty box contains full-sized products from Kathleen Natural, Humble by Nature, Elsa’s Organic Skinfood, and Ooh! Oils of Heaven. Together they are valued at £63. This is great value as it costs a regular subscriber £14.95, including postage.
You also get a code for 25% off the brands featured in the box. You can use this until the 10th of the following month. So which were my favourite products in the June Love Lula Natural Beauty Box? Read on to find out.
Ooh! Oils of Heaven Plum Face Oil Review
This is lovely facial oil is the latest launch from Ooh! Oils of Heaven, and is a cold-pressed organic oil, ideal for dry skin types. This fast-absorbing oil smells exactly like Bakewell tarts! I really like the strong marzipan scent, but it may not be to everyone’s taste. It feels silky on the skin and moisturises well without causing breakouts and is rich in Omega 9.
Humble by NatureSweet Pea and Lemon Verbena Hand Cream Review
I don’t know about you but I have been heavily reliant on hand cream for the past four months. I’m washing my hands all the time so they are really drying out. This is a lovely light hand cream, and smells gorgeous, with notes of lemon, verbena and jasmine. It’s reasonably priced too.
Kathleen Natural Citrus Cheer Bubble Bath & Shower Gel Review
This is a lovely 100% natural bath and shower gel, fragranced with lemon and rosewood. It’s a light fragrance, and I would personally like it to smell a bit stronger! It lathers up nicely and doesn’t dry out skin, but do watch out when you pour it out as it’s quite watery, so comes out in a big rush! It foams up nicely in the bath too and my girls love the scent.
Elsa’s Organic Skin Foods Detox Natural Deodorant Review
I was really pleased to see a new Elsa’s deodorant this month, as I have used several of their deodorants before and always been pleased with them. Unfortunately this particular one doesn’t work well for me.
This natural deodorant contains activated charcoal and bentonite clay, which they say “deliver and all-day protection unlike that of any natural or conventional deodorant.” It smells nice (albeit quite a subtle fragrance) with a fragrance of grapefruit, ginger, neroli and lemon all from essential oils. It doesn’t contain aluminium, parabens, phthalates, propylene glycol, gluten, GMOs, or sodium bicarbonate. Sad to say, it just doesn’t perform on my skin. I also find it scrapes my underarms as it has hard bits in it that don’t melt well. All in all, it’s a miss from me.
A note about natural deodorants: I think you have to kiss a lot of frogs before you find your prince! I have seen people raving about some natural deodorants and when I try them they haven’t worked at all (Ben & Anna is one of those) and I’ve also seen people giving bad reviews to deodorants that work really well for me. So unfortunately this is one you just have to try for yourself as I think it just depends on your personal body chemistry!
So unfortunately this deodorant is not a winner for me, but their lime one is great, and cheaper too. Elsa’s have zero-waste versions in a tin, which I prefer to the turn up plastic tubes as they are more eco-friendly.
