Are you looking for the perfect clean eye cream for 40+ skin? Spoiler alert: I have finally found it! I was perfectly happy with the original Rufolia Periorbital Eyemulsion. But they’ve improved it to a ‘Pro’ version, so I’ve updated my review.
Read my Rufolia clean eye cream review to see if the even-better Rufolia Pro Periorbital Eyemulsion Eye Contour Cream brightens and firms eyes naturally. And whether it’s worth the £35 price tag.
Rufolia Pro Periorbital Eyemulsion Review
The Rufolia Pro Periorbital Eyemulsion arrives in a recyclable cardboard box. The eye cream now comes in a plastic tube, a change from the old aluminium tube. Normally, I’d say this is a step back as aluminium can be recycled infinitely, unlike plastic. However, the aluminium tube was hard to control, so I ended up squirting out too much quite a few times. So this new tube is actually an improvement for me.
I’ve used two tubes of the previous version (you know I love it, if I bought it a second time!) You get 15g, which lasted me six months, using it every morning.
This natural eye cream is sold by The Ayurveda Experience, and they say:
“Reduce the Look of Sad, Wrinkled Under-Eyes + Brighten + Firm +
Moisturise the First-to-Show-Ageing Area on Your Face! Brighten and firm the delicate skin, not just under your eyes, but all around them with the powers of Manjistha, Aloe Vera, Niacinamide & Hyaluronic Acid combined in this eye-mulsion.”
The Ayurveda Experience

As a beauty copywriter, I find their copy a bit over the top, but try not to let that put you off. I don’t consider myself to have ‘sad, wrinkled under eyes’, and I don’t think marketing copy should make us feel insecure about our looks.
All that said, it does work really well, and I have no plans to swap.

Rufolia Pro Eyemulsion Ingredients

I looked up this clean, vegan eye cream on the Yuka app. It now rates it as ‘Excellent’ (up from ‘Good’ for the old version). There are a few ingredients flagged as ‘low risk’ for possible fragrance allergens: Benzyl alcohol and Pelargonium Graveolens Flower Oil. This is not an issue for me, but of course if you are sensitive to these, then don’t buy it!
So what’s changed with the new formula?
The Pro version is designed to be more effective on the look of dark circles. It also targets crow’s feet, as it helps to smooth and firm the skin. The new formula is said to have more of a velvety feel. It doesn’t feel very different to me, to be honest. I loved the original texture anyway.
Rufolia Pro Clean Eye Cream Benefits
These are the benefits claimed on the website and I do think they live up to them:
- Brighten the appearance of the periorbital region
- Moisturise, firm and reduce the appearance of fine lines, crow’s feet and wrinkles on the eyelid and around the under-eyes
- Ayurvedic herbs Manjistha and Aloe Vera come together with Hyaluronic Acid and Niacinamide to deliver breakthrough performance
- Unique emulsion with a creamy but non-oily, non-sticky, velvet-matte, no-shine finish
- Natural-toned emulsion blends into any skin colour
- Unique 3-C technique nourishes the skin not just under your eyes, but all around them
- Vegan & Dermatologically Tested
My Verdict on Rufolia Pro Clean Eye Cream
The clean eye cream itself is lovely and rich, but melts into the skin beautifully, with no greasy feel. This means it’s fine to use in the morning before you put on make-up, if you wear it. It leaves the eye area feeling so comfortable and refreshed, and the pale peach colour helps it blend in.

I do think that this luxury clean eye cream has actually brightened the dark circles beneath my eyes. So, I definitely think it’s worth trying if you are a fellow sufferer. My eye area isn’t really losing firmness at the moment, so I can’t test that. But I do think Rufolia Pro Periorbital Eyemulsion has helped plump up the skin around my eyes.
Beyond the brightening properties, it has also improved the texture of the skin, particularly beneath my eyes. My whole eye area is smoother and brighter, so I am delighted with the results.
It’s worth mentioning that the company offers a 30 day returns policy. So if you don’t like it, you can return it, minus the cost of postage.
