But I’ve made mistakes over the years and bought things that haven’t really worked that well, or have been ‘greenwashed’.

What’s in the Sustainable Swap Box?
The Sustainable Swap Box has got lots tried and tested swaps you can make for a more sustainable life.
Contents include a beeswax wrap, bamboo toothbrush, cotton buds and plasters, compostable bin liners and sponge, a compostable bin liner, water flow bag, and concentrated anti-bac cleaning liquid sachet that you dilute with water in a spray bottle.
As you can see, bamboo features a lot in this box, and with good reason. Bamboo is a sustainable, fast-growing crop that doesn’t need much water, grows well without pesticides or chemical fertilisers, and biodegrades. It also produces up to 30% more oxygen than an equivalent tree, and absorbs twice as much carbon dioxide.
I made the switch to a bamboo toothbrush several years ago and have never looked back. And you’ll be pleased to know my dentist always gives me a good report. We use bamboo toilet paper too, and you can read about that here.
I’m also a big fan of the wax wrap, which is the eco-friendly reusable alternative to single use plastics. You’ll also find lots of facts about sustainability to get you thinking.
What Else Can You Get?
You’ll also get a code to order a Laundry Egg and an LED lightbulb. You go through and choose if you want an E27 screw fitting or a B22 push fitting for your bulb. You do have to pay £3.95 for postage unless you add more to your order to reach the free postage threshold.

But now I’m all set up it has slotted into place. I think it’s a good place to start your eco journey, and could have saved me both time and money when I started my sustainability journey.
