Five things I love right now: October

1. Wayfair.co.uk glass terrarium. I’m going to plant this up with succulents, but for now, I’ve filled it with pinecones and conkers that the girls have collected.

2. TIGER bathroom accessories. Our ‘new’ bathroom was finished in the new year, but we haven’t decided on new towels or other accessories yet. When we do, I will blog about it, so you can see the transformation! I found these great little beakers in TIGER for a pound each, and was so pleased, as they have suckers on the back so they don’t clutter up the sink. Ava and Thea each have their own and they put their brush and toothpaste back after they use them, rather than just chucking them into the sink. So we might go for turquoise towels to match!

3. Bird wallpaper. One of the reasons I can’t decide on towels is that I want some wallpaper above the bath. But I can’t find the right one (apart from really expensive ones!) I have had the one on the left up for ages, and do like it, but am bothered by the fact that the flower is as big as the peacock. I don’t like it when the scale is out (just one of the reasons I can’t watch “In The Night Garden”!) The flamingo one is from Laura Ashley and I do love it but think it might be a bit childish. So I’m leaving them blu-tacked up until we decide. If you know of any flamingo wallpaper that we wouldn’t have to re-mortgage our house for, please let me know! Peacock and Flamingo wallpaper
4. RHS Wisley in autumn We are RHS members and loved visiting Wisley in the spring, and went back over half term, when it was just as great. The girls loved seeing the ducks and swans, and hiding under these giant leaves!

5. Arts and crafts days. We’ve had such a great half term holiday and the weather has been pretty good, but one day Ava just wanted to make a cake stand. She let Thea decorate the top layer and did the rest herself. We helped her stick the lolly sticks on.

Your arts & crafts looks great, we love getting creative with cardboard. Wallpaper is a big choice, you are right to leave it until you find the right one. If it’s a small space I wonder if you can get an end of roll or something on sale? #LovelyThings x

    1. Ooh that’s a great idea Becky, yes it’s only a small part of wall so I might be able to get away with that, thanks! Xx

  3. Flamingo’s all the way. I did a blog
    On flamingos recently –
Check it out, you could add the quote to the wall x

      1. Haha x thanks – paper chase sell them as wall hangings x thanks for popping by, as a fellow princess I love your blog name 🙂

        1. Oh don’t tell me that, I spend enough money in Paperchase as it is!! ARGH have you seen the flamingo Christmas decorations in there? Amazing. Though they don’t go with my red and gold theme so I might have to get them as general decorations! xx

          1. Love a general decoration!
Do you want to start a paper chase support club with me? I daren’t go in, since my September ‘back to school’ splurge we’ve had to remortgage haha x

          2. Love it! Yes a self-help group would be great, I can think of quite a few other potential members!! xx

          3. We will need t-shirts and pencil cases to match…Ohh and a slogan!

          4. We can get the pencil cases from Paperchase…oh wait…

  4. I love the bird wallpaper – yes do it! And those tiles are my most favourite too, I hope to have them in the kitchen one day 🙂 Id love some of those cups for the bathroom. I clean it every week and without fail there is so much toothpaste round the sink, or its filled with water and their toothbrushes bobbing about !! ahhhh! x

    1. Ha ha I hate all that greenish gunge that toothbrushes leave behind, it makes me cringe. I’m glad you like the tiles, we had them in our old house and they just never date. When we eventually retile our kitchen I expect we’ll use them again! Xx

  5. We love Wisley too! Any time of the year. And they’ve just opened a Tiger near us. Must remember to check out these mugs! #ourfavefive

    1. Wisley is just wonderful isn’t it, I’m already planning our next visit! I can’t go past Tiger without going in and coming out with a bag of goodies. It’s just got everything I like! Xx

I love the cake stand – how amazing is that?! We are not far from RHS Wisley but have not visited lately, I think our last trip there was back in the summer when they had the Alice in Wonderland theme. I’m loving flamingo wallpaper but I think I prefer the peacock one just because I like the greens and blues along with the pink!

Thank you so much for linking up to #OurFaveFive it really means alot to me. I hope to see you back again next month! xx

    1. Thanks lovely, I just realised I didn’t link up last months! They are doing some Christmassy things at RHS Wisley so we are planning to go back again in between Christmas and New Year. Thanks for the input on the wallpaper, I think I am veering away from the flamingos too! Xx

I love succulent terrarium too, they just look so adorable. That cake stand looks very beautiful, very creative girls you’ve got. It’s great that you’ve enjoyed the half term break, autumn is still good for doing outdoor activities as long as it’s not wet, isn’t it? Thanks for sharing! #lovelythings
