I am starting 2015 with the (probably vain) hope of BEING MORE ORGANISED.
Sometimes I think people may think we have been burgled, when they pop over unexpectedly. The upside of this messy house (I have been told) is that it is very relaxed, ‘homely’ and welcoming. So I try not to stress too much!
My first New Year’s Resolution was to tackle the UnderStairsCupboardOfDoom. And (she says smugly) I did this on New Year’s Day!
It took quite a while, but I can now stand on the floor and I have space for my vacuum. and drawers with all my kitchen gadgets, so they are easily accessible, should we feel the need to make waffles. Or a stew. I even have the iron on a shelf, next to the board. So on the (very) rare occasions that I want to iron, I can do so in a matter of minutes, instead of having to empty the cupboard to find the tools. I feel like a new woman.
So inspired was I by this afternoon of rare organisation, I spent a half an hour the next day, sorting out the TupperWareCupboardOfStress. Ooooh it feels so good not to have a mini-breakdown every time I open the door.
Next, is my dressing table. As a self-confessed beauty junkie, this will be harder, I fear. Check back to see how I got on… and wish me luck!
