Five things I love right now: June

1. Tropical prints. This juicy watermelon print  is on my new glass worktop protector. I have read using a smooth glass surface for paper cutting is better than using the self-healing cutting mats. At only £2.99 from Dunelm I thought I could afford to try it out! If not, it will still look great in my kitchen. I picked it up in store but when I just searched for the link, I saw they do all sorts of matching accessories… dangerous!

2. Flamingo glasses. My obsession with these kitsch birds shows no sign of slowing down! These beauties are from IKEA and the girls love them. As they’re only 50p each, if they get broken, it’s not the end of the world.

3. Bourjois Magic Nail Polish Remover. It’s hard to believe I’ve made it to my mid-thirties and only just discovered this. It’s brilliant and only £5.99. Normally I get loads of polish left around the edges of my nails, and it takes ages to soak off the varnish. But not with this baby! I got the version for Hands and Feet and it has a little extra sponge in the lid for your toenails. Genius.

4. Cream Teas. We’ve just spent a brilliant week in Cornwall, and pretty much ate our own body weight in cream teas, cake and ice cream. This delightful cream tea came from Trengwainton Tearooms at the National Trust’s Trengwainton Garden and I loved that you could choose from plain or fruit scones, and between strawberry and raspberry jam. Normally I eat my cream teas Devon-style (cream first, then jam on top) but I thought it would be more polite to eat them the Cornish way this time.

5. Homegrown roses. We came home to find these beauties blooming away. So, so beautiful.
