Helen from All The Beautiful Things nominated me in the “I am the Mum who…” tag. I’ve been reading other blogger’s lists and there are some really lovely ones (and funny too!) So here is mine:
Dear Ava and Thea,
I am the Mum who…
… Can never get enough ‘cuggles’, even if I do complain that I can’t get anything done with Thea wrapped around me like a koala.
… Can’t bear to correct you when you say ‘biscetti’ instead of ‘spaghetti’, ‘Wimilum’ instead of ‘William’ and ‘hair plick’ instead of ‘hair clip’.
… Can’t resist taking pictures when you get into scrapes. And laughing.

… Would be lost without Vanish.
… Hopes against hope I am being a good role model.
… Refuses to buy you sweets however much you beg… Because I know how painful and expensive it is to fix up bad teeth, and I see how loopy you get when you have too much sugar.
… Hates soft play. But knows you love it, so takes you anyway.
… Loves the wonderful pictures you create for me and wants to display them, even the freaky ones.

… Cherishes our nightly story times.
… Loves eavesdropping on your funny conversations.
… Delights in your singing, especially when you forget the words and make them up.
… Is so pleased you want to be just like me. (I don’t pose like this, do I?!)
… Sometimes can’t believe I am a ‘proper’ grown up with two kids!
… Gave up her job to spend more time with you – and doesn’t regret it.
… Hopes that your love of Disney won’t result in you wanting to be rescued by a man, or having a crushing realisation that you’re not actually a princess.
… Tried my very best to breastfeed you, but just couldn’t manage it.
… Is so happy you’re best friends, even if you do plot mischief together…
… Buys DVDs of my old favourites: Button Moon, Bagpuss and Wind in the Willows to try and avoid watching Kerwhizz or Something Special on CBeebies.
… Hates plastic.
… Is so grateful that you have such a special bond with your grandparents.
… Chose a great hands-on husband to be your dad!

I think all of my mummy blogger friends have done this by now but if you’re a mummy, blogger or otherwise, and would like to create your own list (it’s really fun!) consider yourself tagged!

I love this, this is such a great tag! 🙂 The picture with the wellies really made me laugh

Thank you! My little ones love it, and it’s so random when you watch it as an adult isn’t it!! Xx
Yes haha looking back it sure is! Xx
i am the Mum who still can’t get enough of her precious now grown up children, or her enchanting grandchildren and who delights in the new memories as well as the old ones reawakened. I am the Mum who listened in to your conversations especially the ‘plays’ when Peter always played the footballer or the dog. I was the Mum who was troubled when the daddy in Sylvanian families was always dead . I am the Mum who sat down under a pile of wriggling bodies to watch Postum Pat, Bagpuss, or Thomas and often fell asleep but no-one seemed to notice. I am the Mum who hoped I was a good enough role model and often felt out of her depth. I am the Mum who cried silently at the end of the school holidays because I enjoyed you all so much. I am the mum who is so delighted that you get as much joy from your babies as I did and do from mine. love you,
Love you too mumbles xxx
Ahhh yes i love it!! That picture with the muddy hands….priceless! x
I love yours! We have a lot of similarities. I love old kids programmes, I put the old Thomas the Tank Engine on for Ollie instead of the new one!
Oh yes the old Thomas is way better!! Thanks for your comment x
