Thinning Hair? Madara Grow Volume Shampoo and Conditioner Review

Are you looking for a clean, kind, organic shampoo and conditioner to help thinning hair look and feel fuller? There are plenty of shampoos claiming to boost volume and make hair grow thicker, but they are all heavy on the kinds of chemicals I don’t want anywhere near my skin.

Over the last few years, I’ve noticed my hair is starting to thin, and I want to stop it thinning any further, and perhaps start to grow back a bit thicker. So, having had a lot of success with Madara Organic Skincare products in the past, I put Madara Grow Volume Shampoo and Conditioner for thinning hair to the test.

Thinning Hair Issues

Madara Grow Volume Shampoo and Conditioner review

So I’ll start with my worry. I typically find a lot of hair in the shower after I’ve washed my hair. And I wash it every two to three days. My hairdresser was concerned about how much came out when she washed it, so I thought I’d better try something!

I’ve used Madara’s shampoo and conditioner for coloured hair before and liked it. So I thought trying their Grow Volume Shampoo and Conditioner would be a good place to start.

Madara Grow Volume Shampoo Review

Madara says this “caffeine, zinc and fungi-based shampoo, rich in growth-supporting niacin [B3], biotin [B7] and thickening pantothenic acid [B5] from Northern chanterelle reenergises the scalp to encourage volume and strength for more lustrous, fuller tresses.” They say it purifies hair and scalp, promotes hair volume, adds body and bounce, and leaves hair soft and smooth.

This clean, volume-boosting shampoo lathers really well and rinses cleanly, leaving a nice, fresh, slightly herbal fragrance. It genuinely does make hair feel a little thicker as you lather.

The only downside for me is that you should leave it on for two minutes (the matching Grow Volume conditioner should be left on for 3-4 minutes) so this adds time to your morning shower.

Madara Grow Volume Conditioner Review

A blob of Madara Grow Volume Conditioner on a hand

Madara states that this silicone-free conditioner will help “Grow your hair longer and stronger with this moisturising conditioner, boosted by shine-enhancing phospholipids and Northern chanterelle fungi.” They say this growth-boosting conditioner “smooths, detangles and strengthens your locks for a silky sleek result without weighting your hair down.” It does this by helping prevent breakage and split ends, and improving resistance against mechanical and environmental stressors.

This clean, volume-boosting conditioner is rich and thick, and leaves my fine, thinning hair looking and feeling smooth and shiny.

One tip for Madara products in squeezy tubes: I find they always have absolutely loads of product left in them, even when you can’t get any more out. I always cut them open to scoop out the rest. In this case, there was enough left for three or four uses!

Again, the length of time it took to work was a minor issue for me. Leaving on this growth-boosting conditioner does add a few minutes to your shower time.

Madara Grow Volume Shampoo and Conditioner Results

Hair after using Madara Grow Volume Shampoo and Conditioner for three months

Here is a photo of my hair after using Madara Grow Volume Shampoo and Conditioner for four months. I dried it with a hairdryer after a quick spray of Madara Silk Micro Keratin Healthy Hair Mist. I didn’t use any straighteners, and it’s so shiny, healthy-looking and manageable.

The colour hasn’t faded and I do think my hair looks and feels a little fuller. I have been finding slightly less hair in the drain after I wash it. I think it also encouraged my hair to grow faster, even if the results on density and fullness were more subtle.

The only downside to this volume-boosting natural shampoo and conditioner for thinning hair is that you have to leave them both on for so long for best results. I was using this over the summer, so it was hot enough to just shut off the shower whilst it got to work. But that is a less attractive idea in the winter, when it’s cold!

Where to Buy Madara Clean, Green Beauty

This natural growth-boosting shampoo and conditioner are ยฃ23.95 each, but they are often on offer at My Pure.

I bought them in the Madara Volume and Bounce Hair Care Set, which also contained the Silk hair mist, for ยฃ45.26, saving 33%.

Because they are highly concentrated, they do last an awfully long time – I have used them for four months, washing 2-3 times a week and they have only just run out.
