Biovene Barcelona Clear Protect Solid Shampoo and Conditioner Review

I was excited to see a different shampoo bar and conditioner in the box this month, as I liked the one in last month’s box. The Biovene solid shampoo and conditioner bars are zero-waste, and free from SLSs, palm oil, parabens, phthalates, and mineral oil. One bar can last as long as 1 1/2 bottles of shampoo, which is brilliant. It’s also more affordable than most natural shampoos at £5.99 a bar.

Biovene Clear Protect Solid Shampoo and Conditioner review

I received the Clear Protect Citrus Dream set, which is described as ‘Dreamy Ultra Hydrating’ although it says it’s suitable for normal to oily hair. I has a citrus fragrance and contains beeswax and shea butter.

Moisturize dry hair effectively with this intensely clarifying, ultra-hydrating natural dream blend that enhances hair’s natural highlights and protects against breakage while providing balance and elasticity for softer, smoother and revitalized hair.”

Biovene Barcelona

I haven’t tried it on my own hair as I’m not sure if it’s suitable for processed hair like mine, and because it says it’s suitable for normal to oily hair. We’ve used it on my daughters’ hair though, and the shampoo bar lathers up beautifully and rinses cleanly.

I wasn’t sure about the conditioner bar at first – you slide the bar down the hair, massage it in, and rinse. We always comb the girls’ hair though after we put the conditioner on, and it was a bit of a battle to get a comb through Thea’s hair. We didn’t attempt it on Ava as her hair is much thicker and tangle-prone. But when I rinsed Thea’s hair it felt so smooth and soft, so actually I think it’s just a case of getting used to a different format.

Madara Purifying Foam Cleanser Review

If you read my blog on a regular basis you’ll already know how much I love Madara products. It’s my favourite natural beauty brand and I’m always delighted when there is a Madara product in the beauty box.

And the Madara Purifying Foam cleanser does not disappoint.

“This enriching cleansing foam contains Northern Yarrow extract which is rich and will leave the skin feeling soft and refreshed. The cleansing foam removes make-up and also helps to regulate oily areas of the skin and soothes dry areas of the skin.”

Madara
Madara Organic Skincare Purifying Foam cleanser review

Suitable for all skin types, it’s a delightfully light foam than melts into skin, gently cleansing it. It does claim to remove make-up, but that didn’t work for me. It’ll be using it in the mornings to refresh my skin, but won’t use it in the evenings unless I don’t wear make-up for that day.

FoM London Anti-Pollution Glow Serum Review

I love a facial serum and find they generally work better for my combination skin better than facial oils. The description is perfect for my skin so I was excited to try it:

“A serum that transforms a dull skin into deeply hydrated, plumped healthy looking skin glow. In addition it helps refine pores and blemishes caused by effects of pollution.”

This serum feels light and refreshing, and sinks into skin beautifully and works well beneath make-up. It contains very subtle pearlised light-reflective pigments that give a gentle glow. It’s a real treat .

Kathleen Sensual Rose Body and Massage Oil Review

This blend of 100% natural oils is 97% organic and vegan-friendly. It has notes of rose, orange and nutmeg and as you can imagine, smells gorgeous. Kathleen say, “This sensual and euphoric aroma enhances feelings of joy, romance, and positivity.” The glass bottle comes will be easy to recycle when I’ve finished it. It’s also made in the UK.
