Do you want fabulously full eyelashes, without loads of chemicals? I’m always on a quest for the best natural mascara. I’m testing Inika Bold Lash Mascara to find out if it that’s possible. My Inika Bold Lash Mascara review will let you know if this natural mascara delivers on its promise to “volumise and thicken lashes for an ultra-bold finish.”
About Inika
Inika are one of my favourite natural beauty brands and I am already a huge fan of their Long Lash Mascara, which you can read about here. I also love their loose powder foundation and finishing powder, which you can see in action here. So why are Inika such a great brand? There are loads of reasons.
Winner of over 35 cosmetic awards, outperforming even non-organic brands; Inika has smashed the myth that natural make-up has to compromise on performance or fashion.
Inika
They are pioneers in Certified Organic ingredients and healthy beauty. All Inika’s ingredients are ethically sourced, natural and derived from botanicals or minerals. They are certified organic, vegan, halal, and cruelty-free. This means they don’t contain petrochemicals, synthetics, mineral oils, parabens, talc, PEGS, gluten or lactose.
Inika Bold Lash Mascara First Impressions
The packaging of the Inika Bold Lash Mascara is luxurious, as it comes in a sleek, gold-toned tube. The plastic tube is recyclable, as is the cardboard box it arrives in.
The brush is quite chunky, and made of natural bristles. I don’t like plastic bristle brushes as my lashes are long and they get tangled and stuck together with plastic bristles. This brush separates my lashes well, but I need to use a lash comb when applying more than one coat of mascara.
The natural mascara formula does get a bit lumpy around the base of the lash, so I find i have to wipe it back into the neck of the mascara tube before applying.

Inika Bold Lash Mascara has a 100% Natural Formula

The Bold Lash Mascara is pretty ‘wet’ but not runny. It takes a little while to dry, giving time to comb through if needed. It not only makes lashes fatter, it also lengthens them, making it a great all rounder and a strong contender for the title of best natural mascara. Inika Bold Lash Mascara is COSMOS certifies and 100% natural, and you can read all the ingredients here.
This natural mascara is a little difficult to remove, so I suggest using a dedicated eye make-up remover before you cleanse your face. I use Neal’s Yard Remedies Eye Make-up Remover. It works well without irritating the eye area. Even after oil cleansing with my current favourite cleansing balm, I usually need to wipe over my eyes with micellar water to get rid of all the mascara!
Inika Bold Lash Mascara Effect
So how does Inika Bold Lash Mascara look? Pretty impressive, in my opinion! I do have naturally long eye lashes, but they are fairly straight and thin. This mascara really fattens them up, but somehow manages to keep them looking separated and natural. It’s probably the best natural mascaras I’ve tried, and I have tried lots!

The effect is great with just one coat, but adding a second coat really gives great lash impact. I do get a little bit of a smudge beneath my eyes by the end of the day, but the lashes themselves keep on looking great all day. You can keep layering additional layers if needed too, without it going too clumpy. It really is the mascara of dreams!
You can buy Inika Bold Lash Mascara in Black or Brown at My Pure. I highly recommend it, and think it may even be better than their original Long Lash Mascara, though that is also fantastic.

You can read about how I fake fuller eyebrows with natural make-up here. I barely have any natural brows left due to over-zealous plucking in my teens.

What a great review Becky and wow, a really impressive mascara! I am already a fan of Inika Long Lash Mascara and it’s good to see that the Bold version is also great. Inika’s mascaras are definitely one of the best I would say.
Thanks Petra, yeah I don’t think you can go wrong with either of them, I’m happy to use them both, as they give such great results! Xx
