One Bed, Two Ways: Which Bed Linen Do You Prefer?

{Ad-Review} Products gifted in an unpaid collaboration. All opinions are honest, as always.

I’m currently planning our bedroom makeover. It’s been on my to do list for about three years, but keeps on getting pushed to the bottom of the house list. Home textile company Deyoungs are helping me make over our bedroom with their lovely cotton bed linen. I chose the grey set, and they also sent me their most popular peacock feather bed linen. Can you guess which one I ended up liking best? Read on to see how changing your bed linen and a few other accessories can totally transform the look of a bedroom.

Look 1: Grey Nimes Chambray Bed Linen

This is the pale grey chambray set I choose myself. I tend to go for plain fabrics, or occasionally graphic prints. This one ticked my usual taste – grey, simple and chic. I’ve teamed it with mustard yellow cushions and accessories, and I think they look great together.

Styling my bedroom with Deyongs Nimes Yard Dyed Chambray Duvet Bed linen Set with yellow scatter cushions

This bed linen has a subtle stitched pattern across the bottom of the duvet cover, and the ends of the pillow cases, which adds interest to an otherwise plain set.

Because this set is so minimal, you can get away with brighter accessories with more impact. I pinched the yellow cushions from my girls’ playroom and got the mustard yellow planter from Sainsbury’s. Next, I picked a few yellow-toned books from our groaning bookshelves in the lounge. Finally, I added the origami star, which I made from a kit by Origami-Est. It’s meant as a Christmas tree topper, but love it so much I decided to keep it up all year.

Look 2: Duckegg Peacock Bed Linen

This is the bedding set that Deyongs thought would look nice in my bedroom. It’s not something I would have chosen myself, but I’m actually really pleased with how good it looks. I’ve kept the accessories more simple in this look, using plain, pale pink scatter cushions and pink and white plant pots. I love how it looks with the oversized blue art above our bed.

The repeat pattern has a lovely mix of blues and turquoises, and there is piping around the edges. It has a a more whimsical look. I didn’t know if it would work in our house, but I’m pleased to be proven wrong!

Which Bedlinen Look Do You Prefer?

So which look do you prefer? I think it’s really interesting how one bed can look so different, just by swapping the bed linen and a few accessories.

I love the way your bedroom looks! I’ve never seen those kind of ‘lamps’ anywhere so yes, really interesting and creative! I prefer the yellow look of your bed, it looks more inviting and somehow cosier?
