Are you on an eternal quest for the perfect non-toxic, natural day cream with SPF? Look no further! I have discovered the best natural day cream, which contains SPF30, which I consider to be right level of protection for winter. One of the first natural-beauty switches I made was to this amazing day cream from Kimberly Sayer, way back in 2013.

I discovered this natural day cream, by Kimberly Sayer through the Green Beauty Bible. I’ve used Kimberly Sayer Ultra Light Facial Moisturiser SPF30 ever since. Read on to find out what makes it the best natural day cream.

What Makes This The Best Natural Day Cream?

Ava calls this day cream my ‘lemon cake cream’ as that’s what it smells like – so light and refreshing. I use it every day in the winter, and swap for a facial sun cream in the summer.

“Recommended for normal, oily and acne prone skin. Easily absorbed lightweight formula will not clog pores. Contains Lemon Oil which will detoxify your skin, helps stop too much oil production and will help dry up acne and pimples. With Oat Beta Glucan which helps protect your skin against UV-A oxidative stress.”

Kimberly Sayer Ultra Light Facial Moisturizer SPF30 Review

For me, this is the best natural day cream as it’s so light, full of good-for-you ingredients, doesn’t cause breakouts or excess shine, and has SPF30.

I wouldn’t recommend it for summer, however, as this is a day cream with SPF, rather than a dedicated sun cream.

I have never been burned since using it all this time, so I think the SPF must be good. I am not a sun worshiper and prefer to be pale an interesting, or fake a glow with natural tanning oil, so do tend to stay in the shade.

This natural day cream has non-toxic Titanium Dioxide and Zinc Oxide UV-A and UV-B SPF30. It doesn’t give me spots and is really light so it doesn’t leave skin looking like an oil slick. It’s also great under make-up. See how invisible it is when smoothed in:

You need to use 5 or 6 pumps when applying and it takes a little bit of rubbing in to absorb, but is non-greasy. Ignore the instructions, which say to use only a few drops – that would not give you adequate protection from the sun. I don’t believe it would be anywhere near SPF30 if you used that little.

There is a version for dry skin too. I have tried a sample of Kimberly Sayer Anti-Oxidant Daily Moisturising Cream SPF30, and although it’s also lovely, it’s too rich for my oily skin. If/when it gets drier as I get older, I will no doubt switch over.

The Best Natural Day Cream Packaging

The packaging is great – it comes in an air-locked pump, so that you can’t contaminate it with your fingers. You just pump out what you need, to avoid wastage.

As you can see by my empty bottle, it comes in a  clear tube, so you can easily see when you are close to running out. This is very handy for me, as I do actually panic if I run out!

I use about two of these a year, as you don’t need to use a lot. I am happy to pay this for an eco-friendly, chemical-free face cream that doesn’t give me spots.

  1. I haven’t tried any Kimberly Sayer yet (yet being the keyword) but I really want to try something out. I was torn between Antipodes and Kimberly a couple of months back, and then Love Lula had a sale on Antipodes so I went with them. I love their stuff but they don’t see to do a vegan night cream, so I think I’m going to try out the Kimberly Sayer one.

    1. Ah I did look at the Antipodes day cream but I just don’t think I would ever like it as much as this one! Maybe I’ll risk it one day. I do like other products I’ve tried by them! I hope you like the night cream if you try it xx
