Dull, uneven skin tone. It’s one of my number one skincare concerns, and I know I’m not alone. I find my favourite CC cream and mineral foundation go a long way to make my skin look brighter and more even. But aside from regular, gentle exfoliation, I haven’t found much to help it look brighter without make-up. Can the new PHB Ethical Beauty Bio-Gel Skin Brightener help banish my dull, uneven skin tone? Read on to see how I found it.
PHB Ethical Beauty Bio-Gel Skin Brightener First Impressions
First of all, how gorgeous is the packaging? PHB Ethical Beauty Bio-Gel Skin Brightener comes in a sturdy FSC certified cardboard box, which is easily recycled, and is houses in a lovely glass airless pump bottle. Did you know glass is more eco-friendly than plastic? You can recycle it many, many times, without it looking integrity, whereas plastic can only be recycled a few times successfully.

The Bio-Gel Skin Brightener is a clear gel, which feels lovely and cooling when you apply it. It’s easy to spread and sinks in easily, giving a slight, temporary tightening effect.

It also smells absolutely gorgeous, thanks the 100% naturally sourced ingredients, which include immortelle, aloe vera and neroli.
PHB Ethical Beauty Say…
“This brightening Bio-Gel blends the finest quality organic Aloe Vera with Neroli, Immortelle & Licorice in a radiance boosting and regenerative formula. Rich in essential vitamins, minerals and nutrients that help brighten dark areas and target discolouration for glowing, even skin.”
“Aloe Vera: Cools & soothes skin. Improves hydration barrier, reduces discolouration.
Neroli: Targets dark spots and dullness.
Immortelle: Powerful regenerative properties for brighter and more even skin.
Licorice: Targets melanin production, helps reduce & prevent the appearance of pigmentation.”
You can use it on your face or body, and it’s suitable for men and women.
PHB Ethical Beauty Bio-Gel Skin Brightener Results
I’ve been using the Bio-Gel Skin Brightener for a few weeks now, and I’m really enjoying using it both morning and evening. I use it beneath my day cream in the morning, and find it makes a great make-up base as it’s non-greasy. At night, I use it beneath my night cream too.
It’s hard to quantify how much difference it’s made to my skin, but I do think it looks brighter and more even. When I was pregnant, I got some hyperpigmentation over my cheeks, despite wearing sunscreen, and they seem to have faded slightly too. Overall it’s a win for me!

I’m finding the PHB Ethical Beauty Bio-Gel Skin Brightener to be a great partner to their Gentle Moisturiser. This moisturiser was in my last Love Lula Beauty Box, and you can more about it here.

Their natural mineral blusher is a favourite of mine, and is so highly pigmented, a little goes a long long way.

And last, but not least, is my favourite natural mascara, and you can read all about here.
