But I hope to find a natural mascara that’s more affordable. So I tried out Lavera Powerful Lashes Mascara to see if stands up to my long-standing favourite natural mascaras.

First Impressions of Lavera Powerful Lashes Mascara
This natural mascara is £14.90. It looks more like a mainstream high street mascara than most of the natural brands I’m now used to. The shiny, slightly over-sized packaging is pretty slick. The large brush is moulded brush rather than a bristle brush.

How Lavera Powerful Lashes Mascara Looks on Me
So let’s get to the demo of this mascara on my lashes.
In the first photo I have one eye with no mascara and the other with one coat. Then you see both eyes with two coats. I think the difference is pretty good and I was initially impressed.
Lavera Powerful Lashes Mascara is easy to apply and the brush, despite being big, is surprisingly easy to use. It also separates the lashes really well, which is really important for me since I lost my lash comb!
It’s quite a wet formula. So I normally have to tidy up smudges where my lashes print on my brow bones or beneath my eyes.
I thought I was on to a winner and was expecting my Lavera Powerful Lashes Mascara review to be positive. But then I checked my lashes a few hours later…
The mascara has run and smudged beneath my eyes. The lashes themselves have lost the dramatic look they had when the mascara was freshly applied. Not dreadful, but so disappointing, especially after only a few hours.
This is how I looked a different day after being in a little bit of drizzle. It’s actually worse than it looks as I’d already wiped a bit off.
Lavera Powerful Lashes Mascara fades and runs away over just a few hours. A bit underwhelming after such a promising start.
Lavera Powerful Lashes Mascara Review Final Thoughts
I chose Lavera Powerful Lashes Mascara over the many other mascaras Lavera make because it was multi-benefit. And because it says it’s suitable for contact wearers. Unfortunately I find it slightly irritates my eyes and I find specks of black goo gather in the corders of my eyes. It also leaves clumps of black goo even after I’ve removed it with a good eye make-up remover.
The lash look starts off so well but just doesn’t last more than a couple of hours. So even though this mascara is slightly more affordable than my other favourites, I think it’s a false economy.
