It’s time for a review of the latest Love Lula Natural Beauty Box for May. This month’s natural beauty box contains full-sized products from Joik, Seascape Island Apothecary, Ayumi, and Madara, plus a sample from Vestige Verdant, valued at £69. Considering it costs a regular subscriber £14.95, including postage, I think it’s great value. You also get a code for 25% off the brands featured in the box, to use until the 10th of the following month. So which were my favourite products? Read on to find out.

Ayumi Sandalwood & Ylang Ylang Body Scrub

It was a nice surprise to get a body scrub in this month’s natural beauty box, as I don’t think there has been one before. This particular one is from a new-to-me brand, Ayumi, an Ayurveda-inspired brand, made in the UK, and certified as both vegan-friendly and cruelty-free.

“This luxurious treat full of precious essential oils contains sultry, seductive sandalwood, soothing lavender, provocative patchouli, and a kiss of sumptuous ylang ylang tinged with a tingle of ginger to swamp the skin and senses in supple, sensuous softness.”

This body scrub is light and foams up, so you could almost use it as a body wash. The particles of finely-ground olive seed powder scrub nicely without scratching.

You can buy Ayumi Sandalwood & Ylang Ylang Body Scrub for £6.99 here.

Madara Re:gene Volume Rebuild Lifting Mask

Madara are one of my favourite clean beauty brands, so I am always pleased when one of their products are included in the Love Lula Natural Beauty Box. They are expensive products, so when they are in the beauty box, it’s such great value.

“This natural certified non-invasive treatment delivers visible lifting, plumping and wrinkle-smoothing results to give your face back its youthful, V-shaped contours. A powerful fusion of revitalising birch water and firming amino acids restores lost volume and smoothes deep wrinkles, resculpting any sagging.”

This mask is a pale purply-grey colour and you smooth on a generous amount to cleansed skin and leave for 15-20 minutes before wiping off. It’s pleasant to use and leaves skin feeling soft and smooth and looking more radiant, but I haven’t seen any lifting results yet. I’ve only used it once though, so will keep on trying.

You can buy Madara Re:gene Volume Rebuild Lifting Mask for £35 here.

Joik Silky Lip Balm

I’ve got a couple of Joik candles, which I love, and their Lemon and Vanilla Shower Gel but I haven’t used any of their face care before. So it’s great to get this lightly tinted lip balm in this month’s Love Lula Natural beauty box.

“Silky lipbalm nurtures and nourishes lips with cocoa butter, babassu, avocado and jojoba oils, makes them silky smooth and gives a delicate pastel pink color and shine. This product contains only natural ingredients.”

The lip balm is in a lipstick format, and gives a flattering hint of a tint, which I think would be suitable for most skin tones. It’s pleasant to use and I’m happy that it is 100% natural.

You can buy Joik Silky Lip Balm for £6 here.

Seascape Island Apothecary Refresh Hand Lotion

There have been products from Seascape Island Apothecary in several Love Lula Natural Beauty Boxes, including their lovely sleep oil in February’s box and a body wash last year. This month saw a generously sized hand lotion, which is ideal for leaving next to the sink.

“Contains 100% natural essential oils of Jersey Lavender to soothe and calm, Lemongrass to tone and refresh, Geranium to balance and cleanse the hands and natural Shea Butter to nourish and protect. No parabens, no silicones, no SLS, no petroleum, no artificial colours, no artificial fragrances.”

This hand cream smells lovely and makes hands soft and smooth, and the packaging is nice too, though it’s a shame that the box is covered in plastic film.

You can buy Seascape Island Apothecary Refresh Hand Lotion here for £16.

Vestige Verdant Peat Mask Sample

The final product in the May Love Lula Beauty Box is a sample of a peat mask. I didn’t love this one: it was OK, but I wouldn’t bother with the full size and I much prefer the Madara one.
