That thought makes me shudder… when you’re a beauty junkie like me, it is SO tempting to bung everything in your make-up bag. Even if you’re very unlikely to actually use it. So I thought I’d give you a peek inside my holiday make-up kit, full of the clean beauty make-up essentials that are my desert island must haves. Not that I’m going to a desert island, obviously!

Facial SPF is The Most Important Part of a Holiday Make-up Kit
This summer I am using Sukin’s fantastic SPF30 Sheer Touch Face Sunscreen. I love how healthy it makes my skin look, whilst giving SPF30 protection. You can read about it in my review of Sukin Sheer Touch Sunscreens. It comes in a two tinted versions and an untinted version. The tinted one is coming with me as it gives me a bit more skin confidence! I love a multi-tasking product that protects as well as perfects, don’t you?
Naturally Perfected Base
Madara Hyaluronic Acid Anti-Pollution CC Cream is my ultimate desert island product as it gives coverage, light SPF protection and moisture in one, plus anti-oxidant protection. It’s the ultimate multi-tasker! I have bought about six tubes over the last few years, it’s perfect for me! Read more about this amazing base in my full review. I use the light version but there is a medium colour too, though it’s still pretty pale.
I layer this over my Sukin sunscreen and it makes my skin look great.
Natural Concealer
I wear Madara’s The Concealer every day under my eyes, around my nose, and on any blemishes. You could wear it alone over sunscreen too. It comes in lots of shades and I use Warm Latte.

Creamy Blush, Highlighter & Lip Colour
A small clean make-up palette that really packs a punch is a holiday essential for me. This is my RMS Beauty Signature Set in Mod, which I’ve had for ages as I tend to save it for holidays or weekends away. Find a similar RMS palette here.
Containing Master Mixer, Living Luminizer, Smile Lip2Cheek, Spell Lip2Cheek and Simply Cocoa lip and skin balm, you can use it for blusher, to contour, as a highlighter, to give skin a luminous glow and to tint your lips.

The Master Mixer works well as a subtle eyeshadow too. I love that it has all these products in such a small package, making it perfect for travel.
Perfecting Mineral Powder
I like to set my face with a natural mineral powder and the plastic-free, refillable Vegan Translucent Perfecting Powder from Love The Planet is my favourite. You only need a little to give subtle coverage and air-brushed look. I really rate their powder foundation and blush too, pop over to read about the whole Love The Planet collection.
Volumising Mascara
I won’t go anywhere without a good mascara and my latest mascara love is by RMS. I have the travel sized RMS Beauty Straight up Volumising Peptide Mascara which is perfect for a holiday make-up bag. Read all about this fantastic clean mascara here.
Gently Defined Brows
I opt for a more low-key brow on holiday, so instead of my usual Madara Brow Pomade, I just take a natural eyebrow pencil from Benecos, with a built in spoolie to brush through brows.
This soft pencil can double up as an eyeliner too (though I never bother with eyeliner on holiday).
Throw in a couple of pairs of earrings, watch and rings and I’m good to go! You’ll also see my reusable bamboo make-up pads and plastic-free, biodegradable hair ties, and paper make-up bag. I try to keep my eco life going when I’m on holiday too.
